Emma's POV
"Emma! Help me!" I heard as I jerked up awake.
Brendon?
I jumped out of bed and ran out of my room. I heard Brendon cry out in pain as my heart dropped to my stomach.
I rushed down the stairs and to the terrible room I was kept in when I got kidnapped.
I saw Brendon tied up against the wall, his arms spread apart. His face was bloody and he looked like he was in so much pain it hurt me inside physically.
Charlotte was standing next to him smirking down at her knife. "Brendon!" I exclaimed. "Let him go you monster!" I yelled at Charlotte as she just laughed.
"Let's have some fun shall we?" She continued to laugh and pressed the knife up against his chest.
"No! Stop!" I yelled, trying to run to her but something was holding me back. I couldn't move, it was as if my feet were glued to the floor and my arms tied behind my back.
I looked down at my feet and tried to pull my foot up but I just couldn't. Just then I heard Brendon cry out in pain as my head shot up.
Charlotte dug the tip of her knife into his chest and started dragging it down his chest, blood seeping through the fabric of his now ripped shirt.
"NO, LET HIM GO" I yelled, pulling harder on the restraints that weirdly weren't even there.
Wait.
Am I dreaming? This has to be a dream.
I closed my eyes tightly and kept my head down. Brendon's screams just got louder and louder as tears rolled down my cheeks.
This is just a dream Emma, none of this is real, Brendon is okay. I continuously repeated that in my head, desperately wishing I could just wake the fuck up. "Emma! Stop her! He yelled as I couldn't keep my eyes shut any longer, I opened them and screamed when I found Brendon standing right in front of me, his face and body bloody. My stomach churned as I shook violently.
"Don't let her kill me," He yelled, grabbing my shoulder hard.
**
I shot up awake and gasped, gripping onto the fluffy comforter. It was pretty cold in my room so I wasn't exactly sweating. I put my hand on my shoulder and rubbed a little. My shoulder kind of hurt for some reason.I pulled the covers up higher and laid back down on my side.
I felt empty, it felt weird to feel that after not feeling it for so long. Brendon made me happy, he made me feel complete and good enough.
My stomach grumbled as I sighed. I was starving. I took a shower a couple hours ago then Ian gave me some food to eat. After that, I got locked inside this room and instantly fell asleep on this hella comfortable bed.
I stood up and walked to the door and knocked on it. "Hey anyone out there? I'm still really hungry, please can I get some more food?"I begged, knocking on the door a couple of times.
I was about to knock again when the door opened. "Oh hey Simon," I muttered when the door fully opened, revealing that the quiet guy opened it.
Yes, I came to a conclusion that he barely talks at all. Even Ian told me not to take it personally since he is just that way and no one's even sure what his real name is. So they just call him Simon.
"Have you been standing here the entire time?" I asked as he gave a short nod. "Oh.. how long has it been since I fell asleep?" I asked once again as he looked down at his watch, then held up 2 fingers. "Damn only 2 hours? No reason I'm so tired," I yawned, rubbing my eye. "Do you think Charlotte would get mad if you let me eat a little more?" I asked as he moved to the side.
I stepped out of the room and slowly walked down the hallway with Simon, then the stairs to the kitchen. Simon opened the giant fridge and pulled out raw chicken wings. "Are you going to cook?" I asked, not being able to take my eyes off the chicken wings. My stomach growled loudly as I sat down on the chair in front of the fancy black marble kitchen island.
Simon nodded and turned around, and turned the stove on. "Hey, so what's your real name?" I asked as he turned and stared at me for a moment before turning away once again. "Why can't I know? Did you like commit a quadruple homicide so you're forced to keep your name a secret or something?" I went on rambling.
"Yes."
My eyes widened. Simon spoke for the first time- at least to me. "Whoa what really?" I asked, my eyes still wide. "No," He said, as my shoulders slumped. "Oh okay," I muttered, drawing random shapes on the table with my finger.
"What the hell is she doing outside the room?" Charlotte asked, bursting into the kitchen, scaring me. "Uh I was hungry," I tried to say but it came out as a whisper. "Get her back in the room after and don't let her out," Charlotte barked at Simon as he turned and nodded.
"Oh hey Emma," I heard Ian say, walking into the kitchen. "Hey," I muttered as he took a seat next to me. "Oh my god, Simon you're making your amazing chicken wings, finally it's been forever since you've last made it," Ian exclaimed to Simon. Simon continued to cook, ignoring Ian.
"His chicken is the best thing in the world, trust me I like have a fuckin orgasm every time I eat it," Ian said completely casually like we've been friends for years. "You know you're like working with my kidnapper right?" I asked, raising my brow. "Yes and?" He asked as I squinted my eyes.
"Why are you being so friendly to me," I asked as he smiled. "It's better than leaving you all alone to feel lonely, especially since you've been terrified the past few days, so I'll be your friend plus I'm just a super nice person," He said, flashing me his pearly white teeth. "Oh, that's nice of you, thanks I guess," I mumbled, smiling a little.
He was right, I'm lonely, having him as a friend while I'm here wouldn't be terrible.
"The chicken smells amazing Simon," Ian exclaimed. "I know you're smiling," Ian also exclaimed as Simon held up his middle finger, keeping his back facing us. I chuckled as Ian shrugged.
"He loves me," Ian said, waving it off as I chuckled again. Ian reminded me of Levi and it made me feel better. I missed my friends so much. I was also so glad I didn't have to stay in the terrible room anymore, I was honestly dying in there.
Simon turned around, holding a big plate of chicken wings as both Ian and I smiled. "Hell yeah!" Ian exclaimed as Simon placed the big plate in front of us. "Thank you," I said to Simon as he gave me a short nod once again. I picked up a chicken wing as Ian suddenly bumped his chicken onto mine and Simon's.
"Cheers," He exclaimed, then bit into the chicken wing as I laughed.
***
"UNO!" Ian yelled, dropping his card and laughing. "What the fuck, no that's not fair, you've won 5 times in a row, you're cheating," I yelled back in disbelief. "How?" I muttered, staring down at his last card. "Hey, just let me have the pleasure of winning before Daisy comes back tomorrow, she beats me every fucking time," Ian complained. "Whose Daisy?" I asked. "Oh, she is part of the gang, I think she might have gone to the same high school as you have," Ian explained as I nodded. "Never heard of her but alright," I shrugged.
"Can we please play one more round, I swear I'll win this time," I begged as Ian nodded. "You're going to lose again, loser," He joked. "I'll win, trust me," I said confidently as he shrugged. "Yeah yeah, whatever you say," He said, collecting the cards and shuffling them for the next round.
He finished and passed me 7 cards when suddenly the door opened. I turned around and looked at who came and my jaw dropped.
"Dad?"
