Emma's POV
"Emma!" My dad yelled, running into the room as I pushed myself up on my feet.
My dad pulled me into a hug as I broke down in tears. "I was so worried, I'm so sorry for not coming sooner, are you okay?" He said as he pulled away, inspecting my body to see id I had any injuries.
I did, but my shirt covered it.
"I'm okay dad, are you okay? What happened at the wedding? Is Brendon okay? Is Levi, Becky and Theo okay??" I asked worried as he offered me a sad smile.
"I'm okay, I've just been worried about you. And the wedding, well I'm guessing they haven't told you yet. And your friends, they are handling it okay, Brendon was affected the most, he would go to your room or somewhere at the beach I think and stay in there for hours just because he wants to feel close to you, but he ends up falling asleep and having nightmares about you darling," My dad said with a sigh as I felt an electric shock go throughout my body.
I wanted to see Brendon. I wanted to hug him and tell him I'm okay. "Dad please tell Brendon I'm okay and not to be worried much and that I love him so fucking much with all my heart," I told him as he nodded.
"He wanted to come with me but Charlotte didn't let. I'll get you out of here I promise, stay strong for me, Brendon and your friends honey," he said, hugging me once again. "I will dad," I whispered, trying not to cry.
"Okay family reunion is over now say goodbye, Alex get out," Charlotte said, standing by the doorway.
My dad glared at Charlotte then gave me a small smile and walked out of the room.
I sat back down in front of Ian as he gave me a sympathetic smile. "I'm guessing Brendon is your man?" Ian asked as I nodded, sighing.
"I'm sorry, I honestly wish I could let you out of here, but I can't. I'm part of this gang because I need money to pay for my mom's medical bills, she is really sick," Ian said, his voice quiet as I bit my bottom lip.
"I'm really sorry to hear that Ian, I hope she gets all the treatment she needs and gets well soon," I said, as Ian gave me a sad smile. "Well, shall we begin our next round?" He asked with a sudden bright smile that I could easily see through.
"Yeah sure, why not," I said, putting on a smile of my own. "So when did you join the gang?" I asked, placing a yellow card down on top of the other yellow card. "When I was 16 actually, I'm 19 now, and I'm sorry but I have to," He told me as I squinted my eyes.
My eyes widened when I realized he placed the 2 plus card down as I gasped dramatically. "How dare you!" I yelled, feigning hurt. Ian laughed loudly but his face dropped when he saw that I put down another plus 2 card, meaning he has to take 4 cards.
"Ha! Take that," I exclaimed, bursting out laughing. Ian grumbled and took 4 cards as I smiled. I might have a chance of winning. I have to.
"But wait, 16? That's such a young age," I said as he shrugged. "That's when my mom got sick and I tried really hard to find a stable job but I always got fired until I got offered to sell drugs for one of Charlotte's men, I thought it would be a one-time thing but apparently he saw that I was good or whatever so I started selling drugs regularly and soon everyone knew me as a drug dealer," He explained as I nodded slowly.
"I had to leave my school when some people threatened to report me, by then I had enough money to move my mom to stay at the hospital so she could be properly taken care of, but I didn't have enough money after paying for her, so I lost the apartment we lived in, I lived on the streets for almost a week when Charlotte found me and took me in, in return for me working here, after a little while, she started paying me as well so now I can pay for my mom's medical bills," Ian completed his story as I gave him a small sad smile.
