Emma's POV
My heart was hammering against my ribs. My hands were by my sides in tight fists as I quickly tried to walk back to the food court where my friends were.
I wanted to turn my head and check but I was too scared. I was in public, the mall, hundreds of people were around, she wouldn't try anything right?
I had been in the bookstore for a while. My friends went to the food court. Brendon was with me for a little bit but then he left when I muttered something about being hungry.
He said that I can look around the bookstore while he went and ordered my food, then he would come back to call me when its ready. I seriously have to best boyfriend in the world and I couldn't have been happier.
But at the moment, I wanted to just simply disappear. Be invisible.
I saw Charlotte. I looked in between one of the shelves to the other side when I saw her. She was staring directly at me smiling. I dropped the books I had in my hand and walked straight out of there. Weirdly, I still felt like I could see her smiling evilly at me and it gave me goosebumps.
I could hear footsteps all around me, and I was terrified one of them was Charlotte's footsteps coming towards me.
Just then someone tapped my shoulder as I let out a small yelp, jumping around to see who it was.
"Whoa baby it's me, are you okay? What happened?" Brendon asked worriedly when I took a deep breath and smiled.
"Nothing nothing, you just scared me a little," I said, smiling at him as he returned it. "Well, let's go, your food is ready," He exclaimed as I smiled. He grabbed my hand and we made our way towards the food court.
Brendon and I sat down at the table our frirnds were sitting at just as Becky face palmed.
"What happened?" I asked. Becky shook her head. "Tell Levi I know alot more pickup lines than Levi does!" She exclaimed as I laughed. "Uh no! Emma, you know I know more, remember when I tokd you a bunch for fun to make you laugh?" Levi pointed out, making me roll my eyes smiling.
"Nope, no I know better, I could get any guy here with my pick up lines," Becky said confidently. "Hm fine, if you manage to find a guy and get him to ask you out after you use the pick up line, you win," Levi challenged as Becky nodded.
"Bet, so the same for you then," Becky said as Theo glared at her. "Um no, Levi is not going on a date with anyone else. Nope I won't allow it, he is mine and only mine," Theo said, shaking his head as Levi blushed.
"Fine then it's only me I guess," Becky said. "Which guy though?" Becky asked as we all looked around the food court. "Ooh what about that guy?" I suggested, as everyone looked in my direction. There was a tall guy with somewhat pretty short brown hair. He was wearing a baby blue hoodie and basket ball shorts.
"I mean he doesn't really look like my type," Becky shrugged. "Hey! Don't judge a book by its cover," I said as Becky shrugged once again. "Hey we're just searching for a guy to help me win this bet," Becky stated. "So then who?" Levi asked.
"That guy," Theo suggested as we all looked where he was looking. "Wait who?" Brendon asked, not being able to spot him, I couldn't either. "That guy over there sitting alone, dark blue hair, white shirt?"
"Oh okay yeah I see him," Becky said. "Well fuck it, I don't care who, as long as it'll prove that I'm better at this than Levi is," She smiled evilly at him as Levi shook his head. "We'll see," He smirked.
Becky quickly pulled out her small round mirror, at looked at it.
She pulled out her lip tint and put it on, smacking her lips together, spreading the tint on her lips then ran her fingers through her wavy hair.
