After I stormed away from Virgil I felt bad so I went back to the castle. I went to the library, the kitchen, the washroom, and his bedroom.  He isn't anywhere so I go and find his father. I knock on his office door. "King Angoro?" I ask.

A few minutes later he opens the door. "Yes, Roman?" He asks moving over to let me in.

I sit down and wait for him to sit at his desk. "I feel bad, I yelled at Virgil for ignoring me for no reason and I stormed off. Do you know where he is?" I ask twiddling my thumbs.

He frowns at me. That didn't help the nervous feeling in my stomach. "I talked to him and he got mad and ran I assumed he went to his room," He says. "Did you check anywhere?"

I nod. "I checked every place in the castle I could think he would be at."

He smiles. "Thank you, Roman, you can go ahead and wait in the library for news." I nod and head out.

I head to the library and wait by the door. A few hours later my father arrives to give me the news. "Hey, son, we checked every inch of the castle grounds and he's not here." I start freaking out.

"I forgot to check in the woods! Did you guys check in the woods?" I ask frantically pacing.

Father nods. "I did Roman." I start pulling hair out of my head pacing more. He stops me and puts his hands on my shoulders. "Hey calm down he'll be okay."

"I WAS ASSIGNED TO TAKE CARE OF HIM! I WAS IN CHARGE TO PROTECT HIM!" I yell and collapse in Father's arms. "W-w-what if h-he d-d-dies?" I sob out. Father rubs my back.

"It'll be okay Ro. He'll be fine he's a smart kid." I nod.

I wipe the tears out of my eyes and get up. "Let's go," I say getting ready to march out and find the prince.

"Um, Roman can we talk?" I nod slowly and he gestures for me to take a seat. "King Angoro has made a decision that Virgil is not to be around you again."

My heart breaks. "But Virgil is MY responsibility! He's my best friend! He can't take him away from me!" I say sobbing.

"Roman enough of that knights don't cry," Father says. "I'll update you but head home and help Mother prepare dinner.

I nod and start walking towards our cottage. I walk in. "Mother I'm home," I call going to the washroom and cleaning up.

"Roman, may you help me make dinner?" I walk out and to the kitchen. I nod and start buttering the crescents. "Where's Father? She asks taking the ham out of the stove.

"Looking for Virgil," I say sadly. "And King Angoro won't allow Virgil to see me for whatever reason that's why I'm not out with them," I state before she can ask questions.

She nods. "Couldn't he just be at another family members house?" My eyes light up.

"Mother you're a genius," I say kissing her cheek and running out of our cottage. I grab my horse and saddle him up. I start riding to Virgil's grandparents. His grandparents live too far to walk to with where our cottage is at.

When I get there I knock on the door. Virgil answers the door. "Prince Virgil!" I say wrapping him in a hug.

He hesitantly hugs back. "Yes hello, Roman," He says pulling away. "What're you doing here?"

"I learned I'm not supposed to be around you and I get that I don't know why but I get it. Anyways I thought I should warn you the knights of your father's court are all looking for you and if you don't show yourself they might file a report and your grandparents will find out you snuck here," I say quickly.

He takes a minute to process all that. "I hate when you're right." He chuckles. "Um I'll go with you maybe Father will give you your job back that way." I nod and he hops on my horse.

We head back to the castle and there I see everyone ready to go to the towns and look for Virgil. "Everyone! I announce. "I have found our Prince at his grandmothers." Everyone starts cheering and his parents get him off the horse.

"Oh, my don't ever do that again!" His mother says squeezing him. His father smiles at me and nods in appreciation.

I hop off the horse and walk to the king. "Very good Roman thank you for bringing back my son." He says putting his hand out.

I shake the strong man's hand. "You're very welcome, does this mean I can become Virgil's knight again?" I ask hopefully.

His smile dissipates. "I'll think about it just get home and sleep. Report back here tomorrow at dawn and we'll talk." I nod and hop back on my horse riding back home.
