VOICEMAIL
cenz 💜: Hey Hannalynn, it's me, I know I don't usually ever call you or even leave voicemails *laughs*, and I know you're probably on the bus right now back to Canada sleeping or something since you didn't answer my call and it's kinda late. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for stopping by today and letting me apologize and say goodbye in person, I really appreciate it. Also, thank you for forgiving me, I know it was probably not the easiest decision since what I did was not cool at all. So yeah, sorry for leaving you this long message, and I'll probably get cut off really soon, but I just wanted to say thank you and I love you—
[Message exceeded maximum time limit.]hunter 🍃: Hey Hanna Banana, I know it's probably really weird that both Cenzie and I left you voicemails today, but I was hoping to FaceTime you and see if you were alright. I know you've been under a lot of stress lately, and what you told Cenzie and I today about your mixed feelings definitely explains a bit, so I just wanted to check on you. Anyway just text me or FaceTime me if you want when you get this, I love you and miss you already!

REAL LIFE
Hannalynn's phone finally reached full charge the next morning after she woke up, and she checked it to find two voicemails from her two best friends. She texted them back in reply and also got a FaceTime request from Hunter, to which she picked up the call.
"Hi Hanna Banana," Hunter greeted with a smile.
"Hey Hunter, what's up?" Hannalynn greeted back as she quickly tried to fix her messy bedhead hair.
"Ah nothing much, just wanted to check up on you since I saw you got my voicemail," she replied. "How's it feel to be back home?"
Hannalynn shrugged. "It just feels weird knowing the next rehearsal will be like super awkward."
"Well, I mean, Cenzie told you the full story, so maybe you could tell it to Jack and see what happens from there," Hunter suggested.
"I guess," Hannalynn sighed before hearing a knock on her bedroom door.
"Han?" Hannalynn's eyes went wide when she recognized the voice as Finn's. "Can I come in? Please?"
"Let him in! Let him in!" Hunter insisted frantically as she made funny facial expressions.
"Bye, Hunter," Hannalynn laughed before hanging up and hesitantly opening her bedroom door. "What are you doing here, Wolfhard?"
"Can I please come in?" He asked once again. "I wanted to explain to you about everything."
"Yeah, well, Cenzie did that yesterday, so—" Hannalynn was about to close the door when Finn pushed it back open.
"You heard Cenzie's side of the story, not mine," Finn was still holding the door open. "Please, Han, can I come in and talk to you?"
Hannalynn hesitated before stepping aside. "Okay."
Finn walked in and sat on the edge of her bed, Hannalynn joining him. He stared down at his hands, which were fidgeting in his lap as his leg bounced up and down. Hannalynn knew he could sometimes get anxious, so she gently reached out and touched his arm. He looked up and made eye contact with her as he gave her a small smile.
"Sorry," he then reached into his pocket and handed her a piece of folded paper. "I'm better at writing out my feelings, and I wanted you to know how sorry I am. So, I wrote it for you. Obviously you know Cenzie's half of the story, and probably most of mine is similar, but there's also things in there Cenzie wouldn't know, so I suggest you read it." He stood up and was about to leave when Hannalynn grabbed his arm once again.
"You can stay," she said.
"You sure?" Finn raised an eyebrow.
Hannalynn nodded. "Yeah."
Finn sat back down next to her and continued to fidget with his hands as Hannalynn unfolded the piece of paper. It was a printed picture of the two of them from the first day they met, and on the back was Finn's scribbled handwriting with a note for her.
Dear Hannalynn Marie Rogers,
This picture was from the day we first met, and honestly, it's a day I'll never forget. I knew from the moment I saw you and heard you play that you'd be perfect for Calpurnia, because you're one of the most amazingly talented musicians I've ever met. I also knew you'd be one of my best friends, and when I realized I had feelings for you, I didn't want to ruin that, so I didn't say anything once Jack had asked you out. Cenzie suspected I liked you and came up with the plan for me and Ayla to fake date, and part of me had a feeling that it wouldn't end well, but I went with it anyway. I guess part of me wanted to know how you felt, and I know I probably should have just asked, and I'm really sorry about everything. I know I hurt you, Han, and I didn't want to at all, so I understand if you're going to be mad at me for a long time or maybe even not want to see me, Malcolm, or Ayla anymore. But just so you know, you mean a lot to me Han, and I want whatever is best for you and will make you happy. I'll always be here for you whenever you need me, I promise.
- Finn
Hannalynn folded the note back up and placed it on her nightstand while Finn still nervously fidgeted. Without fully thinking, she placed a hand on his cheek. As he turned his head, they locked eyes, and her other hand held his to help calm him down. Hannalynn thought she wasn't entirely sure why she began to do what she did, but she leaned in until her lips met Finn's, her hand still holding his.
