Chapter 2
I walk past my mom without saying another word. I throw the door open and step into the garage, and towards my moms red subaru. I swing my bag into the backseat of the car while i slump into the front. I cross my arms and wait for my mom to find the keys. She walks into the garage, closing the door behind her, and runs to the car. The engine won't start when she turns the key, so she leans back in her seat and looks at me with eyes that pierce the soul.
"Wanna tell me what happened?"
"Not really." I knew she would do this.
"Well i kinda want to know what happened. Was it sexual assult?"
"Mom, i said i don't want to talk about it!"
Her eyes got really big, and she takes a deep breath. "Jessie, I know he hurt you, and I know that it's hard to get your feelings out, but I need to know-"
"No, Mom, you don't need to know. It is none of your buisness! It's my life, and i will tell who i want what i want. I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!"
"You will do whatever i say you will, and i am demanding you to tell me what happened!"
I groan and look away. "It's what you do best."
"Excuse me?" My mom sounds like she's eight with the effect she puts on the U. Exc-U-se me?
"All you ever do is demand to know what is going on in my life. Maybe i don't want you to know what's going on! It's none of your buisness."
She looks at me, and i look at her. I try as hard as i can to keep a straight face, but like i said, her eyes see into the soul. It's like you can feel them digging for something she can use against me.
I should learn not to mess with her. It never ends well for me. Sometimes i get lucky though, and she gives up. I'm hoping this is a lucky day. It's not.
"Fine. If you don't want to tell me, then fine. Your grounded. Two weeks."
I stare at her, jaw dropped. She never grounds me! Ever! "Just start the car."
My mom looks at me for a couple of seconds, then turns toward the steering wheel. The key turns, and the engine roars. We back out of the garage, and into the road. The entire way to school, we didn't even look in eachother's direction. Two fights in twenty four hours. It's too much. I plug in my ipod and drown out my thoughts with a little Avril Lavigne and some Green Day. After two songs each, i'm walking through the doors, not even pausing to wave goodbye to my mother.
