the warmth of richie was all eddie needed. they needed eachother and clearly no distance will stop richie from getting to eddie, it was extremely clear that love was in the air. they both knew the love in the air wasn't a friendship, but neither of them brought up the relationship they were developing as time went on.
eddie kept richie's presence a secret from the foster family he was currently with. it was currently summer so richie didn't have much to do in Derry and even if school was going on richie would rather fail a grade than leave eddie's side.
weeks began to pass and eddie was getting no updates of how the custody battle was going, the state of Maine against the one and only Sonia Kasbprack.
that was the only update eddie would receive every couple of days, "the custody battle is still going" time and time again.
he finally told richie after hiding the fact that he had no idea when he could truly return to Derry and he withh the new friends, a group that truly accepted him.
"- with the size of your mother she could be considered a state." richie responded to eddie after he was told the saddening news.
"r-richard!" eddie was interrupted by his own laughter, richie loved hearing the angelic sound of eddies laughter it truly made the butterflies go insane inside his stomach.
they laugh in sync with one another until richie looks up meeting eddie's eyes. they were beautiful and he would always get lost in them.
"what're you looking at?" eddie teased giving off a small smile.
"can't stop staring at those ocean eyes." richie said staring at eddie with pure love.
the laughter soon turned into silence that ended abruptly by the sound of lips crashing.
