Monochromatic.

The rain clattered and hit the ground, creating the sounds of a thousand claps.

The lightning fractured the milky-gray sky, full of tearful clouds.

The lightning made the sky light up for a second,
which caused the drenched trees to cast their shadows over the wild undergrowth,
but after that second,

Everything was under the same monochromatic darkness.

I sat by the window,
a dim lamp shining above my head, throwing light over the cluster of words and the bundle of stories from around the cosmos,
resting in my hands.

The dull, overcast sky managed to filter out some of the sunlight.

The raindrops settled themselves on the window and polka-dotted the glass.

I sat there in silence. Complete silence.

Just me, my book, my heartbeat, and the sound of the rain.

There was some odd satisfaction and peace that came with the cries of the sky.

The sound,
seems so loud and clear,
that you can't hear the thoughts that create chaos in your mind.

Silence can be a blessing,
Silence can be fatal.
Silence can be deafening,
Silence can be chaotic.
Silence can bring you peace,
Silence can bring you grief.

Funny thing, silence.
