The true me 4

After the whole thing with Maddie I got brought home safely, My mom made sure I got up to my room. As the sun started to set it made my room turn into so many colors of the rainbow, one more exquisite then the last. Boxes still littered my room except for a few that held clothes. The image of what it was like to hug Maddie made me feel the warmth I felt in the cold rain and it made me feel safe. My mom brought up soup and went back down stairs so that I could draw in peace.

As my pencil touched the paper nothing came to my mind except what I did that lunch. Why did I do it? Why couldn't I make friends? Suddenly the buzz from my phone broke me out of my thoughts, as I looked down I noticed that it was a random number from this area. 

' Hey! Maddie gave me your number and I was wondering if you wanted to join us for camping!' I was honestly shocked that Maddie who doesn't like me gave who ever this was my number and was scared for me. I excepted and packed up a few thing then left for my journey after I told my mom. After a little while of me walking I heard the sound of a car pull up right behind me which was strange only because it is a ghost town on the roads. I turned around and it was the girl with fire hair who was sitting in a muscle car that could hold four. I got in and looked at Maddie who was sitting in the back glaring at me and a boy with white blonde hair.

"So I don't think I've ever asked what your names are." I said in the awkward silence void. A bag of junk foods suddenly came from behind me hitting my legs.

"I'm  Daniel," said the boy with the really soft hair. I turned around to look at him fully, he waved and smiled with a really soft smile.

"And that's Kate." Daniel said pointing to the girl with the fire orange hair. Kate smiled and winked at me which made it so I bursted out laughing.

"Kate I have a question, is your hair natural?" Kate nodded and then kept driving. I sat in awkward silence as the others started to make jokes that they only understood, I felt lonely sitting there just looking out the window at the nature around us. When we got to the camp sight I slipped on my Falling In Reverse hoodie but slid my sleeves up. We all got a job assigned to us by Kate and I got the fun job of getting wood.

As I walked deeper into the black whole of the woods I got more and more paranoid by the minute until I was a scared shaking mess. I heard Kate starting to call us all by our first names but anxiety kept my feet in one place.

"Casey?!" I heard them all scream from the sight. I suddenly heard a huge thing of wood drop to the ground and felt hands on my leg and back. Maddie picked me up and got the wood from the ground without almost dropping me.

"How did I know that you weren't going to last two seconds in here?" I said nothing and blushed as he held me closer to his chest.

"Her? Him? They?" Maddie said randomly as he kept walking.

"What?" I replied.

"What are your pronouns?" Maddie said as he looked down at me. I felt super weird as Maddie was being nice to me.

"They, Them but you can call me a her, she." Maddie started to laugh and I was confused on why he was laughing until I repeated what I said in my head for the millionth time. Maddie kept walking in silence, when we reached the camp Kate whistled as she saw both of us.

Daniel did this weird face thing that I couldn't really understand. Maddie rolled his eyes and then dropped me. I rubbed my butt and looked up at Maddie who had walked away in the direction of the car. Kate rushed over to my side and made sure that there wasn't any pine needles in my leg.

"I think Maddie likes you." Daniel said trying to be funny. My heart started to skip a beat as he said that, I looked over at Maddie who had changed from being nice and cute to mean and well mean. As if Maddie liked me that would be the day where I actually get my first tattoo.

We all talked for who knows how long but the we was more them. I stayed quiet mostly because I felt like I didn't belong and because I was next to Maddie. Half way through one of their conversations Maddie had put his arm gently over me, I instantly got up and walked into the woods.

"What is wrong with you?" I heard Maddie say from behind me. I turned around and looked into his eyes, tears suddenly came down my face and anger took over. I walked closer to him wanting to slap him but I didn't.

"I know you hate me! stop the act that you like me!" Maddie grabbed my arms tightly and I started to fight back. Maddie was yelling me to stop but I didn't listen. Finally I felt a sharp pain on my cheek and saw that Maddie had slapped me.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." I started to cry even more and fell to the ground covering the side of my face where he had slapped me. Maddie tried to reach for my face but then slowly put his hand back to his side. Maddie came closer to me and sat on the ground. I hugged  Maddie and felt his arms wrap around my back.

We sat there for a while until we both calmed down and then went back. I sat down in my camp chair and Maddie sat down next to me with a blanket. He gestured to me if I was cold, I got up and Maddie pulled me down to sit on his lap and then he wrapped the blanket around me. I fell asleep to the sound of all of them talking and Maddie stroking my head slowly.

Sorry that this wasn't that long of a chapter I've been in a hard place with my depression so I have been trying to get motivated. <3 AmiytG
