TWO: Old Friends

"BUT THE WORST THING ABOUT LOSING YOU WAS THAT YOU TOOK MY HEART WITH YOU." -Nikita Gill

"Troy, stop!" I squeal as he continues to chase me around the park.

He laughs as he catches me, holding me around my waist as he spins me around.

"Caught you." He says and even though I can't see his face, I know he has on the biggest shit-eating grin.

He sets me back down and I laugh as I grab his hand and pull him along to the next attraction.

I was visiting my grandmother in Orlando and so I stopped by Troy's house for us to go on a date.

We eventually decided to go to Disney World for the day.

Whenever I visited my grandmother, I always took a day to come see him since I lived six hours away and we didn't get much face to face time.

I pulled him to Splash Mountain and grinned up at him cheekily.

"No, no, no. A thousand times no." He shakes his head.

"Please?" I pout.

He looks between me and the ride before sighing.

"Alright, fine. For you." He says and touches the tip of my nose, making me giggle before pulling him into the line.

-

"Sealey!" Someone yells, causing me to snap out of my thoughts.

I look up to see Cline walking into the dog kennel area where I was brushing Fury's fur.

"Yeah?" I ask, immediately putting a smile on my face.

Cline was always nice to me since I helped her become a handler.

She and her dog, Abbey, bonded instantly.

"This has been bugging me for weeks, so I gotta ask. What's your first name?" She asks.

"Emma. Why?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"You come from Alabama?" She follows up.

"Yeah." I nod.

"Well, I'm a little offended you didn't notice your best friend the first day you saw me." She laughs and I gasp, jumping up from where I was sitting to hug her.

"Amber! I thought it was you! I just could've sworn you went to the Air Force!" I shake my head in disbelief and look at her.

"Oh, I was, but uh, yeah, things changed." Her happy expression turns somber and I frown slightly before looking around.
