FIVE:Too Much to Ask
"WHATEVER WE ARE, I STILL REMEMBER THE WAY WE WERE."-Unknown

"I am going to kill you for dragging me to this! You told me it was a formal event! Hence the dress!" I whisper yell to Amber as we sit down at one of the many tables in the Civil Air Patrol squadron building.
"Yeah, formal, not fancy! I said I was wearing jeans and a nice shirt." She says back.
"Exactly, a nice shirt! So, I took that as my cue to wear this! You said my other outfit choice wasn't fancy enough for this Christmas party."
"Yes, your Santa dress with jingle bells attached to the ends definitely wouldn't have been too informal."
"Amber, look at me. I am in a black gown that goes down past my knees and has red rose embellishments! I look so out of place." I widen my eyes at her before putting my head in my hands and covering my face.
"Excuse me," Someone says from behind me, tapping my shoulder.
I turn, my hair flipping, as I look over my shoulder.
A tall teenage boy, probably no older than me, stood there with a smile on his face. I'd just seen him get promoted a few moments ago. What was his name again?
"I'm Troy Simmons."
Right.
"Your friend told me last week that you might be interested in joining CAP? I'm the highest ranking cadet here, so I thought I'd come and talk to you." He smiles softly.
"Yeah, I am." I nod and smile at him, trying to keep a blush from spreading to my cheeks.
"Sit, please." I gesture to the empty chair beside me and he nods, smiling and sitting down.
"I'm Emma, by the way. Emma Sealey." I smile.

As Amber and I walk out of the showers, the men waiting in line catcall and check us out.
"Settle down," Some guy says pushing the guy in front of him in line.
I smile gratefully at him and he just nods at us.
"We get to experience that every day, goody." Amber smiles sarcastically as we walk back to our barracks.
"I'm sure not all the guys here are bad. That one seemed decent." I sigh.
"That's just your horny brain wanting to find a good guy," She laughs.
"Fish gotta swim, Birds gotta eat." I shrug.
"I really can't stand you," She laughs and grabs her bag and gun. She straps on her knife and start getting Abbey ready whilst I do the same before getting Fury ready.
