I take my treat on the subway as we take the Z train uptown. The mechanic sticks his tongue through the peephole as we arrive. We have found him. Santa Anna found him on Tinder. The description under his photo said this:

Santa Anna knew he was the one. That's how Santa Anna makes friends. Santa Anna doesn't have many friends.

Jonathan's narrows his eyes and focuses on the mechanic's speedo. What is he doing? Santa Anna explains our predicament, and in a gruff voice, muffled by the pipe in his mouth, the mechanic says: "Are you folks an annihilated pontoon boat?" He delicately flutters his right eye at Lin. "Because I'll fix you right up."
Lin blushes coyly. The mechanic leads us into his office and lets us listen to his illegally recorded Alice and Wonderland tape on his walkman. I like this guy. Lin whispers in my ear. "Isn't he just alluring?"
I grab his ears and scrunch them into inflexible balls. Lin chuckles fearfully.
The mechanic waddles in as Alice says something about handcuffing the Mad Hatter's naughty little wrists. I don't remember this part of Alice and Wonderland. The musk of his blue banana sling is reeled into my nose. I can not tell I am disgusted or amused.
He silently hands the bill to Lin. He blows a puff of smoke into Lin's face and offers him a hit. Lin gladly accepts. This pleases me for some reason.
We are on the subway back to the theater when Begonia makes a face and grabs the bill from Lin. "What in the name of Theodosia is that?"
