Death Note. (L x Reader x Light)

Chapter Four: Deceit.

What is going on?

"Uhh. So, let's have some cake." You smile, trying to lower the tension. L's face instantly lights up, jumping about like a kid in a candy store. You cut the cake, 1/4 for L and normal sized portions for you and Light. You hand over the slices and give the guys a fork and their coke. 

"Thanks again for the cake." L almost sings, his mouth watering as he stares at the cake.

"No problem." You chuckle, eating the cake. While eating, L and Light continue to glare at eachother. You just sit there in the awkward silence. Once you're all done, you clear your throat so that they look at you. "Considering we've been sat here in silence for the past twenty or so minutes that means we're done here for today. How about we come back tomorrow with fresh minds?" You smile, just wanting the awkward silence to stop. 

"Sure." Light nods, standing up to leave. You and L walk him to the door, before saying your goodbyes. "See you two tomorrow then." Light smiles at you then glances at L. 

"Goodbye, Light." Sounding as monotone as ever, L replies.

"See you tomorrow, flower crown king." You chuckle.

"You know it." He winks at you before walking off. 

When Light is no longer in eyesight, you look at L. "What was all that about?" You question the once again annoyed looking boy. 

"What?" His annoyance slipping into his tone.

"All that tension. What'd I miss?" You scowl. 

"Nothing more than usual." He smirks, going back inside and closing the door.

It's finally Friday. After today, you have a week off. Great.

You get out of bed, shower and change. Today's really warm so you decided to put on a gray [F/B] vest and blue jeans with batman converse. You leave your hair down and smile in the mirror.

After breakfast, you grab the usual things; phone, wallet, lollipops and keys before leaving and locking the door behind you.

"Good morning." You're greated by a once again sleepy L, snaking his arms around your waist and leaning against you. You chuckle at his attempt to use you as a bed and spin around, smiling at him. 

"Good morning, lazy bones. Now, shall we get going?" You chuckle. 

"Too tired." He mumbles. You link arms with him so he can put some weight on you as you help him get to school. 

"Hello [Y/N] and Ryuzaki." Light smiles, catching up to the two of you.

"Hey." L only groans. You chuckle, "Sorry, someone isn't exactly a morning person."

"Don't worry about it. So where are we going to meet up tonight?" 

"We don't want to demand all of your time, so how about L's place tonight at 8?" 

"Sure. I don't really have any plans for today anyways."

Your phone begins to ring so L leans on Light so you can answer it. "Hello?" It's Watari. 

"M, Kira went on a rampage last night. More than 100 victims during the hours of 4pm-6pm. When Light was with you two. If he truly is Kira, he isn't working alone as we thought. I believe this might have been Misa having a jelousy fit after you and Light decided to 'hang out'." Watari informs me.

"Wait... Why because of me?" You whisper into the phone, trying to not let either L or Light hear.

"She obviously likes him and according to what I've heard, she is an easy person to get jelous." Some amusement clear in his voice, but you shrug it off.
