Death Note. (L x Reader x Light)

Chapter Thirteen: That Won't Last Long.

Pulling you onto his lap, he suggests, "Well... Be mine then."

"Always." You reply, hugging him tight. He squeezes you lightly and kisses the tip of your nose causing butterflies to go insane in your stomach and a pink blush to dust your cheeks. Smiling at you, he blushes a little himself.

L's phone begins to ring, so he answers, "Hello?"

As L talks to the person down the phone, you take out a bonbon from the jars and hold it out to L. He just opens his mouth, a smile tugging at his cheeks. You place it in his mouth before kissing the corner of his lips and putting one in your own mouth.

I love being able to do that. Just being able to kiss him whenever I want.

"Yeah, I'll be there in a second. I have a... Surprise for you as well." L smirks as he looks at you, "Alright, see you." And with that, he puts his phone into his pocket. Both of you stand up and begin to walk towards HQ, a nice silence in the air. L entwines his fingers with yours as you walk causing a small smile to tug on your lips.

"That reminds me," You start, taking off the jacket, "Do you want this back?"

Chuckling, he wraps it around your shoulders and smiles, "You keep it, it's cute on you." You giggle and wrap your arms around him as you walk causing him to snake an arm around your waist. Soon enough, you arrive at the familiar, metal building and walk inside. L holds you tight in the elevator, to again help you with your fear, before the doors open and Light has his back turned to the two of you, concentrating on the screen in front.

"Ryuzaki, I can't find anything. I've gone over all of the files but-" Light turns around, looking at you and L who are stood right behind him. "...[Y/N]?"

"Hey." You smile widely at the boy.

He blinks a few times in disbelief before jumping up and hugging you, "I'm glad you're okay!"

You feel L's grip on your hand increase but you just squeeze it lightly to reassure him. "I'm fine, Light. Don't worry about me." Chuckling, you roll your eyes.

Light's gaze shoots to yours and L's hands entwined for a second before he smiles at you, "I'll always worry about you..."

"I'm a big girl now, Yagumi." You snicker.

Light places his hands gently on your shoulders as he grins at you, "I don't care."

L's grip becomes a little too tight for your liking and the tension in the room rocketed so you walk over and sit on your normal chair, "That reminds me, I saw Kyosuke Higuchi write Hikaru Fujioka's name in this little notepad called... What was it again..? Ahh, 'Death Note'. I saw the names of others too who died."

"That doesn't mean anything, he could just be keeping track of who dies." Light shrugs, sitting on the arm of your chair.

"True but at a minute later he collapsed on the street via heart attack." Biting your thumb, you conclude.

Sitting on the other arm, L wraps his arms around you and kisses your cheek, "Well done, that's a little too coincidental for my liking." Your cheeks grow a little pink as his warm, soft lips graze your cheek.

"Hm. But how would writing a name in a notebook kill someone?" Light speculates, resting an arm on your shoulder.

Why are they so... Clingy all of a sudden?

L bites his thumb, "We'll have to investigate further and try to get out hands on it."

"How?" Light asks, curiously.

Snapping your fingers, you smirk, "I got it."

Light had gotten you to tell him everything that had happened while you were gone while L went home to get everything ready for the plan later on. You told him everything- the park, the motel, running into Shizuka and about L. He just chuckled and replied, "You deserve better."
