I had successfully thrown myself off a cruise ship.
I moved into diving position, because hey, might as well take advantage of my situation.
I heard screams of anguish, terror, and amazement as I fell into the water. At this point I began to wonder why i had jumped in the first place.
Oh yeah.
The McPhee twins.
"Your mother must be very poor."
"Very Very Poor."
"Isn't you on a scholarship rag boy?"
And I couldn't take it anymore so.
Now I'm having second thoughts. I start thrashing and kicking, trying to surface through, and I hear my mother's voice ringing in my thoughts. She put me on this cruise, going to send me to boarding school. She wasn't being mean or anything, she just couldn't stand me. I'm kinda insufferable.
"Oak! Buck Up, Oak!" she's yelling. She always used to say, 'Buck Up Oak!' when I was feeling unsure of myself, it used to work, but right now it was just horrifying. But somehow I resurface, and what I see nearly makes me want to go back down.
I see dark clouds swirling in, menacing thunder claps. I curse every god of storms, lightning, and rain, and start swimming.
After a while of kicking, getting tired, and flipping on my back, and repeating, (probably 3 hours) I arrived on shore. The sun finally bowed it's head on the horizon, and I found myself on the shoreline of God-Knows- Where. I fell to my knees, god I was tired, and buried my head in the sand.
"Get up stranger." someone said. I looked up to see a girl. No- not the girl. She was beautiful, but jagged scars ran across her face. She had long black hair, a prominent widow's peak, ivory/tan skin, and a blue tank top, faded from the sun. And I can not stress this enough ladies and gentlefolk; No legs. Where her legs should have been, lo and behold there was a pair of shaggy looking horse legs. "Y-you're a...H-horse!" I yell. She picks me up from the sand and slaps me. I rub my face and look at her with eyes full of Whytheheck'dyoudothat.
"G-oat Jackass!" she yells. She looks at me with tear in her big blue eyes. Eye..I mean. She had an eyepatch on, so I only assumed both were blue. But hey, she was part goat. It could be...goat coloured. "Horses are my cousins and my brothers! But never me!And how are you-" She trails off and starts dragging me off the beach and onto the main land...at least it looked like one. It looked exactly like a post-apocalyptic version of New York, something I had always wanted to see. But now it I wished I had never wished that. It was basically piles of bones, and toxic waste and stuff. I tried to stand on me feet, and almost trip backwards over nothing. Or, maybe it would have been nothing if a black blob didn't circle around my feet."Mabelle!Bad girl!He must be terrified." the girl scolded. She picked up the thing, it looked like a frog, except it had legs like a dog. It was pretty adorable. "What is she?" I finally managed to escape my awe. "Black Oil Mammal." she let the thing rub against her face."Well, we should get you home." she starts dragging me across again.
Great. Just Great.
