No one had received news from Paris since after the fire.
"He's dead. A lost soul...I suppose that he's moved on." Isaac confirmed glumly.
His and Piper's ears went down. "No fair...he wasn't that mean." Rusty tried to comfort her.
Calli seemed un-nerved about it though.
"You okay?" he looked at me and scowled. After being getting killed, being possesed, and al that nice stuff, I guess he wasn't.
He suddenly smiled weakly.
"He's gone. Out of my life." he laughed a bit.
But something hit me dead in the gut.
Calli had said Paris disappeared for a month. A month.
They were obviously friends...or...why wouldn't Calli Opphe, the nicest kid ever, go looking for his friend?
And Piper and Isaac were mourning. I mean literally crying. A few people from the house who talked to them frequently had disappeared as well, but the didn't take notice. Even Krystina left.
Piper's best friend.
And there was that one time Calli was scolded by Isaac. Maybe because he had gone crazy, but I think that wasn't all.
There was past resentment in there.
I couldn't do anything, it was just some circle of hate.
I couldn't even piece it together, even though I'm good at puzzles like this.
I used to have an all white puzzle kit.
Solve it? A Day.
But this was a bigger one. The tiles may have been al white, but they could all end up being the big picture.
It wasn't clear, not a big white picture...
A big grey one.
Paris had been hugging Calli, something he would never even think of.
I had arrived here, and everything had seemed right.
"A Year Ago." I mumble.
A year has past since I got here.
It couldn't have been.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and realized I was on my knees.
"Time Flies, when you're having fun." Piper sighs.
