Hayes' POV

I've known Sam for 8 years. She moved here when we were only 8 years old. I've always had feelings for her. Most of the time she thinks it's a joke when I flirt with her. It probably does come off as a joke because I've never really talked to her about how I feel. When we were in 8th grade, that's when I really wanted to change being "just friends". But obviously, I was like 13 and I had no idea how to do that. But now going into our sophomore year, things are a lot different. I don't want to stay "friends" with Sam. She's perfect. Nash is the only one who knows about me liking Sam. But he just teases me and gives me a hard time about it. He dated Sam's older sister Carly for a few months but they're just better off being friends rather than a couple.
I haven't seen Sam almost all summer and the last time we were together was at a party. I made plans to hang out with Sam today. She probably has dance or a swim meet, something like that. It's gotta be one of the two but I have no idea what she's been doing lately. Thinking about her makes me smile. I pulled up the photos on my phone and looked through a few of them of me and her. She has long, dark brown hair with random lightened streaks of an almost golden color, probably from the chlorine when she has swim, and the most beautiful gray eyes that sorta hypnotize me. She's not short but she's not taller than me. I can't wait to see her. My phone buzzes with a text from her.
S- hey(: so are we hangin at your house? Or..
H- hi(: and if you want to. I just wanted to see you. We haven't hung out in awhile..
S- yeah.. Been super busy with dance.. /:
H- no problem. So you want me to go to your house and walk with you to mine?
S- Hayes I only live a block and a half away lol
H- is that a no? ):
S- get your butt over here I miss you
H- (:

Yes!! Extra time with her. I haven't seen her in almost 4 weeks. I'm already dressed so I slip on my vans and run to her house. God I miss her.
