Hayes' POV
Sam had to go because her and her sister were going somewhere last minute I guess. I walked her home, but we walked really slowly. When I got home my dad's car wasn't there and I'm guessing Nash was home alone.
"Nash I'm home!" I say as I close the front door behind me.
"Hayes! Grab me a water bottle in the fridge!" Nash shouts from upstairs.
I roll my eyes. I grab two water bottles and a bag of chips then go upstairs.
Nash is in his room on his phone. What else would he be doing.
"Here." I say as I chuck a water bottle to Nash, which ends up hitting his arm.
"Damn dude what's up with you" Nash grumbles as he opens the bottle.
"Whatever. You're welcome for the water." I say, walking off into my room.
I hear Nash get up and follow me so I shut my door.
"What the fuck Hayes? It's Sam isn't it. What happened with Sam?"
I cut him off, "IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SAM!! GODDAMN NASH GET OFF!"
"Okay, okay. Sorry man. Just tell me what's up bro."
I hesitate and eye Nash as he stands in my doorway. I throw my head back into a pillow and get a slight wiff of Sam. She was sitting here earlier, I forgot. It smells just like her. Like flowers and candy.
"HAYES. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU MAN?!" Nash shouts as he pulls me off a pillow.
I didn't realize that I put it to my face and started inhaling it.
"Oh shit." I mumble.
Nash jumps on my bed and lays on his stomach. He props himself up with his elbows to look at me.
"Okay dude. I have never seen that before. What the hell is with you Hayes?!"
I hesitate. "Fine." I sigh, "you're right... It's Sam. Today.. It was just.. Like..perfect."
Nash scoffs to himself and I roll my eyes.
"I'm serious. It was perfect. Weird too. Like as weird as weird can get, but somehow still perfect.."
Nash sits up and faces me. He grabs my shoulder. "You got it bad bro. You're crazy about her, pretty whipped actually."
"Nash it's not that it's lik-"
"NO. Don't say you don't, because you basically just admitted it. You've liked her for how long now Hayes? A long fucking .time. Dude just ASK HER OUT ALREADY. Make her yours."
I smile at the thought, "mine". "Okay. For once I'm on board with what you're saying. Help me with this Nash.. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee" I beg as I wrap my arms around him.
"OKAY!! ALRIGHT!! HAYES GET THE HELL OFF ME I HOPE YOU DIDN'T SMELL LIKE THAT AROUND SAM!" He says shoving me off.
"WHAT?!" I say, smelling me shirt, then my underarms, then my shirt again, while Nash is trying to hold in his laugh.
"gotcha" he winks.
He gets up and goes towards the door. "Alright bro, I'll help you with Sam, but when we do, one, she can't know I'm helping you.."
"No shit" I mumble
"TWO, you LISTEN to what I'm gonna have you do. And three, treat her right man, she's a great girl. And I'm just as close to her as you are so I'll be pissed off if you hurt her, just making that clear.."
"Of course I'll treat her right.." I say to myself.
"I'll be honest with you Hayes, I really think she has a thing for you. Like probably not as much as you, but Hayes, she likes you."
I feel my cheeks become warm.
"Good."
