Monroe easily cheated me when she promised me I'd get to know those two other things when I came back. As soon as I dropped off Jet and came back, Monroe had to go or she would've been late as well for her trip.

The trip that she didn't mention was three days long.

She's been gone for two days, and comes back tomorrow. I've been trying to get in touch with her but she's out there living her best life.

I've also tried tried pulling the conversation out of Jet but she won't budge. Not unless I give her the Porsche when she gets her license, and I firmly told her that wouldn't happen.

"Mom, Bryan's on the phone for you." Jet said coming in my room.

I took her phone and thanked her. "Did my phone unknowingly break or something? Why are calling my daughter and not me?" I asked rather rudely.

I heard him scoff into the phone, "Must you be a nuisance every day?" He shot back.

"Bryan. I'm not playing your bullshit games. What do you want?"

"I called my guys at the insurance company and got the baby put on all my insurance information. So any and every thing that happens is covered. Including all prenatal checkups and whatever else you do."

I smiled brightly. "Thank you, baby. Sorry for being snappy. How are y–"

"Goodbye, Toni." He said before the line disconnected.

I was tempted to throw the phone at the wall before remembering it wasn't mine. "Jet, come get your phone!" I shouted.

She came in scanning me with her eyes. "Crappy conversation?" She asked knowing the answer.

I plopped back against the bed, frustrated. "I don't get what I did."

"Why don't you tell me? I'm an adult. Remember my birthday passed and I'm 13 now."

I sat up with my face all twisted up. If she thinks 13 is the new adult age, she's in for a rude awakening.

"I'll tell you, but you cannot repeat it to anyone not even Roe. And you can never call yourself an adult again until you're 18." I said.

"Fine." She chuckled. "Why are you and my potential step-father in this big blowup?"

I explained it all to her. From my relationship with Kenny, to the tape, and the song, how Bryan found out, the reason he's in the hospital, everything.

"Wow."

"Yeah, wow."

"No, like wow. This isn't my field of expertise. I'm calling in the big guns." She ran out the room immediately and I knew exactly who she was calling.

I waited no more than thirty minutes before Tamar came in the house cursing up a storm. The amount of curse words that come from this child's mouth will not add up to the amount of times she goes to church. God won't allow her.

"So you mean to tell me, that you landed that man's ass in a fucking hospital because yo' ass made a sextape with Kenny's old linky, stick behind?" She said after busting in my room.

"I didn't know!" I said for the millionth time since this issue came about.

"I dIdN't KnOw. Do you take me for some fool?" She growled.

One thing about Tamar, she saw through all my B.S.

"Okay! I knew! Is that what the world is waiting to hear?" I snapped. "I knew Kenny made the sextape. I knew he kept it but I did not know he would ever use it! Okay?"

She calmly sat next to me before speaking. "So why are you lying to Bryan about it? You realize you are messing this relationship up? Something in your pee-wee brain is forcefully pushing this man away. First the cheating accusation, then the submissive shit, now this. Why?" She asked with concern.

"I don't know. I don't know anything anymore." I sighed.

"Tell me one thing and if you answer this with the answer you and I both know are right, I want you to fix it with Bryan. Tell the truth. Make things right."

I looked at her and tried to contain my tears. She knows I know her question and the answer.

"Are you in love with that man?"

Without hesitation, "Yes." I felt my eyes releasing their tears as I begun to cry.

I try not to think about my parents but sometimes I do and it messes up my relationships to the fullest extent. My brain is wired to think that I am my mother's daughter and because of that, I don't deserve love like how she said she didn't.

Not even just herself, she told me that women don't deserve love. Some of the things she told me as I grew up selectively get remembered when I'm enjoying my life.

"If you need to, get help. Figure this all out before you lose the love of your life and the father of that baby." Tamar said as she rubbed my back.

"And do it fast." She added.
