Chapter 10

Amanda's POV-
Today was midsommar, we were all wearing our most summery clothing and flower crowns to get into the spirit of midsommar. We were heading to the place where the lunch was going to be held. After arriving I met most of the wives and girlfriends, who were all so nice and I also met their children which were all so adorable. The celebrations were fun, the food was nice.
After last nights post on Isaacs Instagram the media was saying me and Isaac were in a relationship. It was all pretty stupid, but we had added fuel to the fire so we got what we expected.
Everyone was so exited about the sweden match tomorrow. There were still claims about half the squad being sick and new claims that Isaac had sprained an ankle. Nothing had been confirmed but we were all getting a bit anxious.
We tried to not focus on that and just to celebrate today.

It was match day and we were all so exited. We had arrived at the stadium and were just waiting for the match to start. All our original players are playing in the match even victor who felt better. As soon as both teams stepped onto the pitch the whole stadium came to life and you could hear everyone cheering.
Theres something about hearing so many people singing your national anthem, it felt amazing. As soon as the match started it was intense we were dined a penalty which sucked, but In 32 minuet sweden scored and we all went crazy, cheering and yelling. After half time Germany equalised. After Germany was awarded a free kick right outside of the penalty box in the 95th minuet, it might as well be a penalty. And as Toni Kroos took the penalty he scored and we all bowed our head down in disappointment.
We were all so sad and disappointed. As much as we wanted to stay with Sanna and Maja we had to leave for our flight for tomorrow's England match.
We said our goodbyes to the girls and headed to the tunnels. We saw some of the players with their heads down walking into the dressing rooms. I wanted to wait to see Isaac and talk to him but we were in such a rush to leave we couldn't wait around.
So we went straight to the hotel to get our stuff and we then went to the airport.
-24th June-
We were heading to towards the England match and I was super exited to see Jesse and Marcus play. It would also be nice to see one of them score a goal. Just seeing both of them happy made me feel happy, I know scoring would mean the world to both of them.
As we arrived to the stadium we could already see fans filling in to the stadium. All the fans from Panama seem all so happy and exited, I completely understood why, it was their first ever World Cup.
We went directly to the media room to set up everything before the game. There were a bunch of other news channels here too all setting up for the match.
Me,stina and Pontus were trying to decide between watching the match in the media room or going to our seats. As much as we wanted to be out in the stands it was so hot outside and none of us were big fans of the heat.
As we were unpacking all our equipment someone care up from behind us.
The women introduced herself to us and she was from a news channel in France. We introduced ourselves to her too and just chatted a bit before she said
"I'm sorry but you look a lot like the girl spotted out with Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford"
"Hahaha no" I said trying to laugh it off
"No im pretty sure it's you" she said
"It none of your business, just leave" Stina said to her.
She just kinda laughed as she walked away from us.
"I'm so tired of this bullshit" I said as I slumped down in my chair
"Forget about her and let's just focus on the match" Pontus said.
After a while of just chilling the match started and in the 8th minute John stones had scored a header.
By half time it was 5-0 to England, everyone expected England to win but not in a million years would I think they'd score 5 goals in the first half. Two goals from John stones, two from Harry Kane and one beautiful goal from Jesse.
As the second half kicked off England scored their second goal and with minutes to spare Panama scored their first World Cup goal ever.
It almost seemed like the Panama fans were more happy then the English fans.
As the match came to an end me, Pontus and stina went out to prepare for the interviews.
Jesse walked up to me and I asked if he was up for an interview.
"Of course" He said giving me the cutest smile ever
Pontus started rolling the tape and it was go time
"Här står jag med engelska landslags spelaren Jesse lingard och även en av England målskytt i den a match"
(I'm standing with England player Jesse lingard and one of today's goal scorers for England)
"Jesse can you tell us how it felt to score your first World Cup goal ever?" I asked
"If feels amazing you know, to be able to do this for my country and be able to help brings one step closer to our goal" he said
"How do you feel about your upcoming match against Belgium, both teams have same amount of goals scored, conceded and same amount of wins" I said
"You know Belgium are a great team and we can't underestimate them, from what I've seen they know how to play well together and they're a team we should be watching out for" he said
"Do you think who's first and second in the group will be decided by the fair play rule?" I asked
"Maybe, Who knows, they're a good team and so are we either way it's gonna be a tough match that might come down to FairPlay" he said
"Well thank you for your time Jesse and congratulations on your goal" I said as I wrapped up the interview.
After turning the camera off Jesse pulled me into a hug and he whispered to me
"You did great"
I hugged him back and I couldn't help but smile. Before leaving he gave me a kiss on the forehead and walked off towards the dressing rooms.
I couldn't help but start blushing a lot, I tried to regain composer as John stones walked up to me.
"Hey John, you up for a couple of questions" I asked
"Yea of course, saw you with Jesse, you guys would of made such a cute couple if you just gave him a chance" he said
"You ready?" I asked as I ignored what he had said
He just nodded while laughing.
"Här står jag med en av Englands landslags spelare John stones som gjorde 2 mål i dagens match" I said introducing John
"John how do you feel after scoring two goals for your country?"I asked
"It feels amazing, it's like every kids dream to be representing their country in the World Cup and scoring, but I wasn't the only goal scorer for England today, you have Kane who scored a hat-trick and lingard also scoring" he said the last part starring at me with a smirk
"How do you feel about your upcoming match against Belgium?" I asked
"You know we're gonna have to change our mindset and re charge our batteries before the game, Belgium are obviously a really strong team and so are we, they've got great players like Hazard and Lukaku, but I think we still have good chances" John said
"As I asked your teammate earlier do you think the 1st and 2nd place in this group could be decided by FairPlay?" I asked
"I don't know honestly, it could anything is possible, who has the least yellow cards between England and Belgium?" He asked
"I'm not sure" I said
"I guess we'll have to wait and see"
"Yes, well thank for your time John and congratulations on scoring" I said as I ended the interview
"I'll see you around" he said
After interviewing some of the Panamanian players we were back in the media room to pack up our stuff.
"Okay I know the other day I said I'd choose Marcus but like the way Jesse hugged you and kissed your forehead and the way he was looking at you, this guy is whipped" Stina said
"He was looking at me normally and he only hugged me cuz I told him that I get really nervous when doing interviews" I said
"No there was something in his eyes and even the way he was hugging you it was so protective" stina said
"You think?" I asked
"Yes that guy really likes you" Pontus said
"But what about Marcus he's really great and I really like him" I said
"I know for a fact Marcus is whipped"Pontus said
"So what do I do?" I asked 
They both just shrugged their shoulders not helping me the slightest.
-25th June-
We had arrived back at the hotel late last night and we all just fell right asleep.
I woke up really early for some reason I couldn't sleep. I decided to go downstairs to get some breakfast. After getting changed and ready I went down to the dining hall.
I saw all the guys and I said my hellos to them as I got my breakfast.
I couldn't stop thinking about what Stina and Pontus said about Marcus and Jesse liking me. I couldn't help but think about Isaacs advice too, as stupid as it was I kinda wanted to follow his advice.
I was in my own world when I stepped on to the elevator I hadn't even noticed who was on the elevator. Looking to my right I saw Ashley young, my first thoughts were fuck.
"Hey" I said trying to be polite
"Hey" He said
We were both silent and it was so awkward.
"I'd like to apologise about what happened the other day, I was way out of order and it was none of my business" he said from nowhere I was so shocked that he's actually apologise
"Why don't you like me?" I blurted out
"It's not that I don't like you, it's just that I don't want to see either Jesse or Marcus hurt" he said
"I could never hurt any of them, even if it came down to choosing I don't think I could" I said to him
"But then you'd end up hurting both?"
"But then none of them would like go around doubting themselves and thinking what is wrong with me but also it wouldn't ruin their friendship" I said
"But what if you miss the opportunity of being with your soulmate?" He asked
"I think everyone has more then one soulmate" I said as the elevator came to a stop.
"What? We're gonna have to finish this conversation later" he said as he got off the elevator
"Yea I'll see you around" I said as the doors were closing.
Was Ashley young being nice to me? I was beyond confused by this point. But I wasn't going to question it.
After eating my breakfast I didn't have anything to do and every time I tried to wake Stina and Pontus up they'd just tell me to go away.
I decided to go exploring the town, after taking all my stuff I needed I went down to the lobby.
I saw the English Team probably getting ready to leave for training.
After running into Jesse and telling my plans on exploring the city.
"How about instead of exploring you follow us to training?" He said
"I don't think that would be a good idea" I said
"Why not its a closed training session so no media or anything like that will be there and I promise It'll be fun" he said
"Are you sure?"
"Yes and now you finally prove if you're a good goalkeeper or not" he said
"I'm a good goalkeeper and I'll show you" I said as I started to get confident
"We'll see about that" he said
"I guess I should go get changed" I said
"No its alright you can borrow clothes over there" Jesse said.
Me and Jesse were the last on the buss and I was so confused and everyone was starring.
"Amanda is following to show us her amazing goalkeeping skills she claims to be one of the best" he said
"No I never said that I said I'm a good goalkeeper" I clarified
I sat down in the back with Jesse and Marcus, the whole we were all just talking like a bunch of friends. I found it really nice the we all could just talk.
"How did Sweden's match go?" Marcus asked
"We lost 2-1, a goal scored by Toni Kroos in the 95th minute" I said
"Oh god that must of been rough" Jesse said
"Yea it was and all hell broke loose after that there was a fight between German officials and our coach, then there's also been a lot of racist remarks coming from Swedish people" I said
"Against who?" Jesse asked
"Jimmy durmaz, he was the reason to why Germany were awarded a free kick and that's when Toni Kroos scored" I said
"That's so stupid" Marcus said
"I know and if it wasn't for jimmy sweden wouldn't of even qualified to the World Cup, he's only Swedish to the racists when it benefits them and when he messes up he's a Turkish immigrant" I said
"That's so stupid he's representing your nation, you win together and you loose together" Marcus said
"I know and since Germany beat us all Swedish fans have given up hope, but I think we'll surprise a lot of people" I said
"You're confident" Jesse said
"Always am when it comes to sweden" I said
For the remainder of the buss ride we kept on talking and it was really nice.
After arriving at the training grounds I got some clothes to change into. I never thought I'd be wearing England gear, the clothes were too big but it didn't matter.
"Oh here comes England's biggest fan" Kyle yelled as soon as I came back to the training grounds
"Oh shut up" I said as I walked towards them.
"Alright so we've decided we're gonna play a match, 30 minuets, 15 minuet halves, we will decide teams after warm ups" Harry informed me
They started to do some laps around the pitch, I would probably take 20 minuets to do a lap so I decided to sit this one out.
"Aren't you gonna warm up? You might get injured" Dele said to me
"I'm gonna get injured if I do a lap around this pitch" I said
He just laughed as he continued running. I don't know how they have the energy to run id tap out after running around like a quarter of the pitch.
After warm ups we were splitting into teams, our team captain was Jordan Henderson and I was on the same team as Jesse.
I tied my hair up and I put on the gloves I was sort of ready.
I was standing with my team and we were going trough tactics and stuff like that.
"If we loose I'm sorry in advance" I said
"Where did all your confidence go?" Jesse asked
"I don't want to be cocky and then loose, it'll just be even more embarrassing" I said
"When was the last time you played a proper a match as a goalie?" Jordan asked
"About 5 years ago" I said while laughing a bit
"Ahh were done for" Kyle said
"Ay don't say that, if you guys just defend well and keep the ball it's gonna be fine, we're gonna be fine" I said
"Who you trying to convince us or yourself" Trent asked
"Come on shut up" I said
"Okay what is our team name?" Jordan asked
"Vikings" I said
"Oh I like that" Danny said
We all agreed on vikings. After we worked out some tactics it was time to play and I was so nervous.
It was an intense match I wasn't gonna lie I had made a couple of good saves. It was a corner to the other team and I was nervous. Before I knew it the ball was in the back of the net a header scored by Harry Maguire. The first half was over and I was exhausted and I hadn't been the one running around.
"How do you guys do this for 90 minuets?" I asked as I sat down
"Excuse me, what have you done, your not the one running around" Kyle said
"I've saved some pretty good shot" I said in protest
"That is true, didn't think you were that good" Jesse said
"You just didn't believe in me" I said
After resting for like 5 minuets we were back at it and determined to win. First sterling's equalised for us, then Jamie made it 2-1 for us. I had made some great saves, I even surprised myself.
After the 30 minuets were over we had won and I was so happy.
"I told you guys I was good" I said all happy.
"Let's take a picture of the winning team" Kyle said
I took some pictures with the guys, in some of the pictures I was on their shoulders or they were holding me as I laid across them.
After taking pictures the guys were gonna work out in the gym and insisted on me following them. Most of the time there i didn't really do anything I just watched and talked to some of the guys.
"Follow along we're going to the ice baths" Marcus said after they were done with working out
There were 5 big blow up pools just filled with ice and water, all the guys started getting in and it was just painful to watch.
"Come on get in" Marcus said to me
"Your crazy if you think I'm getting into that" I said
"Don't be a pussy" Kyle shouted
They were all yelling at me to get in and after a minute of 2 I decided to get in. I couldn't help but yell as soon as I got in, I yelled profanities in every language that I could think of. All the guys were just laughing at me and after a bit in the ice water I kinda go use to it. The guys were all making small talk I couldn't be In the ice bath for more the 3 minuets.
"I'm gonna go and change back into my normal clothes" I said
After getting dressed again I was sitting in this lounge sort of area waiting for the guys so we could go back to the hotel.
After a bit of sitting Jesse came over and sat next to me.
"Did you have fun today?" He asked
"Yes I actually did" I said while giving him a smile
"I told you so"
"Except from the ice bath I'm still freezing" I said
"Come here let me warm you up" he said as he moved closer to me and gave me a hug
I wrapped my arms around his waist and laid my head down on his chest.
"Any warmer?" He asked
"A bit" I said as I looked up at him.
As I looked up at him I couldn't help but notice his beautiful brown eyes, every little freckle he had. Being this close to him and feeling his warm breath on my face I couldn't help but lean in for a kiss. As soon as he noticed me leaning in he started to lean in too. Soon our lips collided and I felt him put his hands on the back of my neck and pulled me in closer. In the middle of kissing I couldn't help but smile and Jesse noticed since he pulled away and smiled at me. We both caught our breath and he pulled me into another kiss. This time our kiss was cut short but someone clearing their throat. Me and Jesse let go of each other and sat up straight. I was praying to god that it wasn't Marcus as I looked up I saw Stones and Walker trying to hold their laughs in.
"I'm gonna go see where the other guys are at" Jesse said awkwardly as he got up to leave
"Yea you go do that" Kyle said laughing
"So you're listing to my advice and giving him a chance" John said
"No, I don't know" I said
"So you are choosing Jesse over Marcus?" Kyle asked
"No I am not choosing anyone, let's get that clear, second of all no one finds out about what you guys just saw" I said
"So you don't want anyone knowing you've got the hots for Jesse" John said
"Please just don't tell" I said
"Wow you really don't want anyone knowing" Kyle said
I could hear footsteps and talking walking towards us.
"Please just promise" I pleaded for the last time
"Promise" both of them said
I just felt a relief after they both promised.
It took another 20 minuets before everyone had gotten ready and were on the buss. I didn't sit next to Jesse or Marcus I decided to sit next to Kyle. I didn't speak during the whole buss ride and before I knew it we were back at the hotel. I said a quick bye to everyone before heading up to my room. I was so tired I just wanted to sleep, I knew tomorrow all my muscles would be aching. I had no idea where stina and Pontus were.
I changed into pyjamas and got into bed. After I was all comfortable and was about to sleep there was a knock on my door. I signed as I got up to open it, I was so annoyed that I had to get up. After opening the door I saw Jesse and I was a bit surprised.
"You forgot your purse" he said as he held up my bag
"Thank you" I said as I took it from him
"You gonna let me in?" He asked
"Yea of course" I said as I let him into my room
"I was actually just gonna take a nap, hence the pjs" I said
"I'm digging it, but if you were about to sleep I can leave" he said
"No stay" I said to him.
We both sat down on the couch and we just started talking for god knows how long. I just enjoyed talking to Jesse he always knew how to make me laugh and being a smile to my face. Every time I was around him I always happened to find myself with a smile on my face.
