- requires 3/12 symptoms *2/5 symptoms

1) Bipolar Disorders
- changes in activity, energy, and mood *Bipolar I Disorder: mixed mania and depressive episode
- no need for simultaneous mania and depressive episode
- anxious distress added
Depressive Disorders
1) Major Depressive Disorder

- 3 manic symptoms now possible using "w/ mixed features
- can give diagnosis durinh bereavement
