"How did the injections go, Binnie? I know they hurt, but is your arm still sore?" Felix asked, coming to sit beside of the older boy on the couch.

"Only a little," the shorter boy replied.

It'd been a couple of months since everything with Crimson Vector was said and done. Changbin had been reinstated as a member of Supernova, and Felix had pledged his loyalty to the group, meaning that he was now a full time, official member. However, not everything was finished in terms of health and well being. Because Human Vessels tend to have much shorter lives than regular people, Seungmin got to work on a series of injections that would remove all the toxins, chemicals, and everything in between from Changbin's body so that his life expectancy would go back to normal; or at least be closer to it.

He didn't like needles, but he was willing to do anything that would give him more time on the planet to spend with the younger boy. And thankfully, he was very close to completing the series of injections, and that would be that.

"Well, just think about it this way," the Australian began, "there's only a few more days left. After that, you'll be able to feel better, and then I'll take you and introduce you to my family!"

"...really?" Changbin asked lightly.

Felix nodded.

"Of course! I can't wait for you to meet my parents, especially my mom. I know she'll absolutely love you," the Australian smiled brightly.

"How can you be so sure about that?" Changbin asked, feeling a bit nervous at the prospect of meeting his boyfriend's family for the very first time.

"Because my mom and I are a lot alike, and I absolutely adore you, so I know that she will too," Felix answered quickly.

At those words, Changbin's chest began to feel increasingly warm, and it was like there was a sun rising inside of his rib-cage, coming up to shine brightly on his heart, warming it with all its rays. The older boy watched as Felix's eyes lit up with the unpredictability of flames dancing along kindling and firewood, and he couldn't help but to smile.

"There's a bunch of things I wanna show you when we get to my parents' house. There's a bakery in town that makes the best chocolate cakes, so we've definitely gotta go there. And, there's this park that I've always loved. It's kinda small, but I always liked walking on the trail that goes around it, and I think you'd like it too," the brunette rambled a bit, and Changbin watched him with a fond expression as he thought about how he wouldn't mind listening to the sound of his voice for hours on end.

Felix settled in next to the raven haired boy, linking their arms as he sunk into the couch a bit.

The older boy nodded.

"That sounds great, Lix," the raven haired boy mumbled, gently resting his head on top of the younger's.

The door opened, and the rest of the members piled inside like a group of dogs.

"Red bought pizza!" Chan shouted.

God knows why they let Jeongin carry five boxes of pizza by himself, but the young boy dumped them onto the coffee table with a huff, then quickly sat down beside of Changbin. Since arriving back, the raven haired boy had come around to each and every one of the members. He made an effort (with Felix's help, of course) to be more open and personable. He started eating with the others, and they all welcomed him with open arms. All the others piled onto the couch, while Hyunjin and Minho shared the chair to the left of the coffee table. Chan and Jisung had to settle for the floor in front of the couch though, because first come first served, and those two were the last ones inside, so they were the last to sit down.

Changbin felt like he was really part of a family in moments like that. He had Red, who was like the sister he never had. He had Woojin, Hyunjin, Minho, Jeongin, Seungmin, Chan, and Jisung who were all like brothers to him now. And he had Felix, his loving boyfriend who was there through anything and everything. As they all dug into pizza, Felix lightly kissed the older boy on the cheek, and just that simple gesture set Changbin's heart on fire.

And the thing about fire is that it's so unpredictable. And yet, despite that, it's beautiful. The flames flicker with a purpose, and it reminded Changbin of the purpose he saw in the eyes of the younger boy when he was passionate about something. But, just as fire is an unpredictable force, so is all life in itself. It changes with the seasons, and yet even the coldest of winters have purpose. And even when you're freezing, and you feel like you'll never be able to be warm again, and the chill sets in feeling unbearably eternal; spring is coming, and with it, brand new leaves. A fresh start. A new beginning. Felix was that new beginning in the raven haired boy's eyes. Felix gave him hope that he never knew existed, and Changbin was eternally grateful for that. After nineteen years of the cold, warmth had come, and along with it came flowers, and green leaves, and love that made Changbin feel safe and secure.

Because the ice had finally melted, and spring had finally come.
