Saturday

TW: Some Violence

Staring blankly at the ceiling of Patton's guest room was not how Logan expected to spend his Saturday afternoon.

If someone told him a few weeks ago that he would be staying in a room only one door down from his 'crush', wearing Patton's oversized pajama pants and t-shirt, Logan would have immediately questioned their sanity.

In fact, a few days ago, he had begun to think that all hope was lost in even escaping De and his awful apartment.

Logan shuddered now, the dreadful, terrifying memories forcing their way to the front of his mind once again.

Upon hearing a soft knock on the door, Logan flinched. He quickly calmed himself down before calling out, "Come in!"

The door took a moment to open, and he heard a few scrapes on the wood, along with a bit of cursing. When it finally did open, Logan was surprisingly greeted by the stressed and exhausted face of Patton.

"Patt? What are you doing out of bed?!" Logan asked quickly, rushing to help the other man who was struggling to keep his balance on a pair of crutches. With the severity of the barista's injury, Logan was confused as to why he would have a pair of crutches so early, but decided not to question it just yet.

He carefully and slowly helped Patton to the bed, and the injured man practically collapsed down on it once they got there. Hesitantly, the teacher sat down beside him, his gaze looking concerned.

"How did you get crutches?" Logan asked now.

"I...made a deal...with Roman..." Patton said, words spaced out by his heavy breathing.

Upon hearing this, Logan raised an eyebrow. "A deal?"

Patton nodded. "I told him...that if he got me...a pair of crutches...that he had...my permission to ask...Virgil to be...his boyfriend..." He took a deep, shaky breath.

"I see...may I ask why you were so desperate to acquire a pair of crutches?"

Patton glanced at him, then looked down. "...So I could come see you..."

"Patton, you know all you had to do was call my name, and I'd be there," Logan said, though his heart warmed at Patton's confession, and his face turned a little red.

"Yeah, but I'd feel bad about having you constantly come visit me, and then me never visiting you in return," Patton replied, pouting some at the end.

Logan had to chuckle, smiling after. "Only you would be worried about that in your injured state."

Patton returned the smile. "Well, I always put the needs of people I care about before my own."

"Clearly...you're the most selfless person I've met." As Logan said this, he rested his head on Patton's shoulder, not even realizing until Patton said something along the lines of 'Aww.' As soon as he become aware of this position, however, he quickly sat back upright.

Though Logan's heart was still filled with his love of Patton, it seemed his body wanted to reject any idea of even the slightest bit of affection. Even the simple, innocent things like hugs and handholding were a chore, with Logan having to convince his body that those touches were okay, and that Patton had no intention of hurting him.

And it was times like this that Logan's pure hatred of De shone through. He hated how that snake of a man took away from Logan the simple pleasures everyone else seemed to have, such as the ability to not flinch, tense up, or immediately pull away once they were given affection. He was beaten, bruised, and ultimately used. He—

"Lo?"

Logan jumped, his body actually coming up off the bed a bit. He hadn't realized it, but he'd been sucked into a flashback. He knew all about experiencing flashbacks after going through a traumatic event, but he would have never expected to experience flashbacks for the same reason now.

He didn't realize he was crying until Patton hurriedly reached for the tissue box, offering it to him. Through his watery eyes, Logan could see that Patton was conflicted, wanting to comfort him but not wanting to scare him or make him uncomfortable. As the teacher wiped his face with a tissue, he mumbled, "It's okay, Patt...Go ahead..."

Looking surprised at first, Patton bit his lip and wrapped his arms around Logan, careful of his own injuries.

The two sat there like that for a while. One man broken on the outside, and one man broken on the inside.

"Roman, I'm really scared..."

Roman looked down at Virgil. They were cuddled up together on the couch at Patton's home, Roman's arms securely and comfortably wrapped around his new boyfriend.

"I...I am too," Roman replied, softly. He didn't really admit these kind of feelings to anyone, but Virgil was the exception.

Virgil nodded slightly. He was about to say something when a hand clamped over his mouth, one that wasn't his own. His eyes went wide in fear as he felt an object press into his head, threateningly.

"Why hello, Virgil..." a voice said in a familiar drawl.

Roman was completely frozen, his arms had tightened around Virgil on instinct, but he didn't think it would do any good.

De came around to the front of the couch, lowering the object as he pulled Virgil up, keeping a hand clasped over his mouth. "I think we'll be going now..." He roughly dragged Virgil towards the door.

Something clicked in Roman's body. Anger and adrenaline filled him and he got up and ran towards De, his body slamming into the other's, the tackle knocking them to the ground, including Virgil, who attempted to crawl away after.

De growled. He threw a punch at Roman, who quickly dodged it. They slowly stood, Virgil seeming to be forgotten.

Roman kicked De's kneecap as hard as he could, and the impact caused him to fall once more. The teen boy took this time to run to Virgil, wanting to make sure he was okay before continuing with anything else.

But it didn't take long before De quietly and slowly stood. Roman had his back to him, kneeling beside Virgil.

The evil older man had a smirk appear on his face. He slowly reached down and picked up a brick that had been near the front door, as it had been used as a sort of door stopper to keep the door open occasionally. De aimed the brick, and threw it.

"Roman!!" Virgil shrieked, but it was too late. De had missed Roman's head, and the brick slammed into Virgil's head instead, knocking him back to the ground and causing him to black out.

"Not what I wanted...but I'll take it," De said with a sickening chuckle. He watched for a moment as Roman cradled Virgil in his arms in shock, before he quietly showed himself out.

Mwahahaha.

This chapter was supposed to be up sooner, but as a lot of you know, there was a ton of glitching, and for a while, the work, along with my drafts and such, disappeared. But I was finally able to get it up now.
