"Stars," she whispered. "I can see the stars again, my lady."

A tear trickled down Artemis's cheek. "Yes, my brave one. They are beautiful tonight."

"Stars," Zoe repeated. Her eyes fixed on the night sky. And she did not move again.

1 Year Later

The cool, refreshing spring breeze was a perfect companion to the vibrant flowers now out in full bloom.

Hand in hand, Logan Stone and Patton Sanders walked down the sidewalk, taking their time with no intent nor need to rush to their destination.

A few feet behind them, Virgil Sanders was leaning into his boyfriend slightly, while Roman Hamilton had his arm around him, not minding how close he was, or how the position made it a bit harder for Roman to walk.

In fact, these positions were, in a way, reminiscent of how they'd been walking a year ago, heading to the funeral of Remy Stone.

It was surreal now to even think about what their lives had been like last year. It was all so crazy it was hard to believe it ever happened in the first place, but, alas, all of it actually happened, changing their lives forever.

Going back to school was the hard part, at least for Virgil and Roman. By then, many rumors had circulated through the school, ranging from speculations about why the two were absent, especially on the same days, and if they were together. Finally, Roman and Virgil set the record straight, telling everybody how they were not...not straight and single, that is.

And the thing was, there were some rude, downright mean people. But after coming out as a gay, and dating, the couple was approached by others with wide smiles, praising them for doing this and being brave despite knowing what would happen once everything was out.

Patton's leg had thankfully healed, though he was a little insecure about the scars, and he refrained from wearing shorts because of them, even now. But, Logan knew it was better to let him be for now, not wanting to push something that was understandable when you thought about it.

As for Logan, once a whole new school administration took over, he was asked to come back to work for the school, and was even given a bit of a raise after being back for a while.

Recently, Logan sold his house, and, with the help of Roman, Virgil, and Patton, had moved all his things to Patton's house, as he was officially moving in with his boyfriend. He didn't want to bring all of Remy's things inside the house, but he also couldn't bear to get rid of them, which is why they now sat in a storage locker a block away.

And...with these changes, Logan learned there's a different between moving on, and forgetting about something entirely. Trying to forget something happened is getting rid of all the evidence that someone, in this case, a child, ever really existed to begin with.
