{Location: Train 316} (Cole's POV)
I slowly wake up as something warm lays on my right arm. That and my pounding head.
Seliel lets out a relaxed sigh, "Are you awake or do I need to keep sleeping?"
I don't want to move, this is what I've been wanting for a long time but I rub the bridge of my nose with my other hand, "How'd you know? And why are we're..um.."
"You're breathing quickened. I'm guessing because you woke up and saw our situation." She starts pulling away, not really wanting to leave my arms. "And we're sharing a bed because my pal called dips on the blanket and pillows."
"So you had to use me for warmth." Like that's the only reason. I slowly crawl my other arm around her when the door slams open. Startling me to jump and Seliel to roll onto the floor.
The frenemy cop lady snorts while holding out a tall tower of breakfast and two glasses of orange juice, "Morning." She sits criss-cross on the floor, passing out plates and forks.
I rub the back of my neck as Seliel gives me a sweet smile, "How long have I-"
"Close to a day." The frenemy cop lady starts buttering her toast. "Happy Friday."
Seliel just takes waffles and eats them, no toppings or anything, "You used your magic a lot yesterday." She even starts pulling food out for me, "What do you remember?"
I sit up, rubbing the bridge of my nose trying to get rid of the tiny fraction of my headache, "I passed out like a wuzz, you and your frenemy cop lady lugged me onto an escape train. So you and your friend must have jumped on with me." I snicker as I bite into my pancake, "At least you didn't do anything stupid like stay behind to buy a few seconds."
"Well.." Seliel starts playing with her hair, "We didn't get on the train AT the station per say."
"You stayed behind to buy a few seconds didn't you?" The last blurry hazy pieces come together. She laid me down, tried to soothe me and wait... didn't she call me hunk and kiss me. My stomach curl at both of those thoughts. But she most definitely ran out and closed the door. I palm my face while shaking my head, "I thought you knew better than that."
"There were just a few stragglers, I wasn't going to leave anyone behind." She looks me in the eyes while swirling her glass of OJ.
"And," the frenemy cop lady smiles while holding a similar glass, "We made up. SO yay, you don't have to share a train car with two cranky pants."
"Cheers to that," Seliel touches glasses with her.
I sigh, I know she can handle herself. Heck, she kicked my butt and all my brothers' butts when we first met. But this nagging feeling of her getting in danger is stuck. "Fine." I'm out of it and really don't want to have the first fight with my girlfriend anytime soon, "Did you update the others on our progress?"
She finishes her sip, "Yeah," She sets her glass down while reaching for an apple, "This train is heading to Stixxs, the plan is to pick up your Ronin pal to make up for Kai ditching us. After that, we take his airship back to the island."
I roll my eyes, "I guess where we're that desperate." I pick up the apple and toss it to her.
"If it makes you feel any better, no one else has gotten back from their mission." She catches it.
The frenemy cop lady downs her juice, "Meaning you're the first to succeed technically."
"Some one's got to get stuff done here," I feel my stomach growl but I reach my hand out, "We didn't meet-"
