{Location: Darkened Silverthorne theater}(Kai's POV)
I smile as I run the stage. There she is, half hiding behind a thick red curtain. "Sky!"
"Kai," she folds her arms. Not too different than how she looked the last time I saw her. Only her bright fiery red hair is midnight black now.
"Sky!"
She rolls her grey eyes with a blood red circle, "Kai."
"Sky!" I slam face first into something invisible. I fall off the step, on my sword no less. I moan as I sit up, there's a light transparent-yellow force field thing blocking me from Skylor, "Ow, a little warming would be nice."
"Why do you think I was calling your name?" Skylor folds her arms.
"You can talk. Like in complete sentences? Cuse last time it was a lot more garbled up."
Sam appears to help me up, "Yeah. Why do you think she came to me when she got infected?"
"So that's what you meant." I stand on my own, watching the force field's color fade away, "Why's she trapped? She's a person."
Skylor knocks against her side of the force field, "I asked for it, hair gel."
Clover gives her a longing look, "We don't like it better anymore then you do but Sam's magic is the only thing keeping Skylor from feasting on us and from going full shade."
I glace at Sky, she nods. I moan, "But that's not gonna last long huh?"
Skylor shrugs, "Not really. Sam's a natural at magic but even that can't keep me from um..."
"Don't worry," Sam twirls her finger above her head, a portal opening, "Last time I was in Tyrell, I was looking into-"
Ronin folds his arms, "You can teleport?"
"Yes and shut up, I'm talking," Sam opens up her hand, having the portal stay open on a wall, "I was investigating a potential Shade sickness cure the last time I popped over there."
Clover hums, a little happy, "I remember. That was a fun week."
"I can look in their library. Only-"
I think of the overly shiny and overly perfect Tyrell. Not a lot of fun, "With how bright it is, Skylor won't be able to control her urges and go nuts."
"Exactly."
Clover shifts his weight but seems to be watching Skylor more than talking to the group, "And the shade tends to try and finish the converting job as soon as they can. They'll come for Skylor."
Ronin plays with his eyepatch a little, "Which would make the trip to Tyrellie moot."
"Tyrell." Sam annunciation slowly, "Ty-rell."
"Whatever."
I touch the force field as Clover hovers his hand over it. No, Skylor's MY girlfriend. There is no way this creep is gonna touch Skylor. Granted, she can kick butt on her own but that's not the point. "How many people do you need to look into this lead?"
"Two would be nice." Sam scratches the back of her head, "I may have turned into a minor criminal last time I was there."
Clover snorts while brushing his all too silky hair behind his ear, "Minor?"
"Let's not talk about unimportant yet awesome adventures."
"Then," I sit criss-cross, leaning up against the force-field, "I'll stay here, protect Skylor while you, Ronin and," I tap my lower lip, "I'm bad with names. Was it something dumb like coffee?"
