{Location: Darkened Silverthorn city}(Kai's POV)

"Oh no, no," I press random buttons on the destiny's shadow. I know this thing is supposed to have 2 pilots but I've managed myself so far. Until now. When I'm out of gas. "Come on." I slam my fist against the control panel. "Not good."

I'd like to say that I had a soft landing.

In truth, I crash into the side of a building. I sigh, I owe Lloyd a new mini-flying ship. I grab the map and hop out.

I'm a dead man now.

Staying in the sky is er, was the only thing that kept the shade off my tail.

I don't dare use my fire, as I shuffle my feet forward. Trying to feel possible debris around me, "SKYLOR! SKYLOR!" Fun fact, the shade don't react to sound. I'm guessing that rely more on vision and heat sensing. Leaving me to keep shouting at the top of my lungs.

"HELLO!?" My foot slams into a sign. I squint through the darkness to see a city name, Silverthorn. Pretty I guess. It's a good place to start looking. I follow the sign's directions forward. There are miles of darkness and silence.

It's eerie only to hear my voice calling out Skylor's name. I need a break.

I find a department store to hang out in. Sitting on a check out line converter, I pull out water from my back. Sipping it as I look at my map. I've searched New Ninjago city, Los Teros, Ethos, Nova Aurora, and Dragon hights. All coastal cities, all now crossed out as I searched through all of them

Turns out, it's quicker to search a city without all the people in it.

I lay down, "Where are you?" I promised to help her. And I'm a man of my word. But where? She still has her power of amber. For all, I know she could be on the dark island. I could really use a miracle about now.

"Taking a break fire boy?" Ronin appears over my head. He smirks wide as I sit up. Ronin looks mostly the same, except for a not so well hidden photo he keeps in his hat, a golden telescope and thick pockets. Probably full of money. Ronin cleans the telescope with his dirty shirt sleeve, "I thought ninja never quit."

"Ronin?" I poke him with my shoe, hoping he's a hallucination. Sadly no. He's very much real. I should have known from the smell, "What are you doing here?"

He rubs his fingers, "You gotta pay to know that."

"You can't trick me into paying you."

"Please, you're the easiest to get more out of. Like when-"

"No, I mean you can't." I hop off the checkout convert belt, "I spent the last of my money on gas."

"Oh," Ronin pushes his mysterious photo further under his hat, "Well if you must know, I'm looking for a girl."

"Skylor?"

"No. Someone else. Is that why you're here? Something wrong with Skylor?"

I shrug. I'm wasting too much time. Gotta get looking again, "Long story. Wait a sec, why aren't you a shade? How'd you get out here?"

Ronin pulls not money but small cubes of ice from his pockets, "I've got ice cubes from the first spinjuzu master's tomb for months now. Turns out they melt much slower the other ice. I keep 'em on me to throw off the shade's suspension." He puts them back as we mosey out of the store, "Only now, I'm next to the hottest thing for miles."

"Well guys don't tend to call me hot," I smirk as his shocked expression, "And believe me I'm flattered. But I'm more into girls."

Ronin smacks the back of my head, "I meant the sword dum-dum."
