I shuddered as I stared at what was happening in front of me, unsure of how to react, how to process it all. Pettigrew wailed as the two men dragged him from the hole in the wall, both threatening him with their wands which they pointed directly at him
"S-Sirius... R-Remus. My old friends." Pettigrew stuttered, my heart dropped as it registered in mh brain who this man really was, he was the man who sold my parents out and murdered my mother. Pettigrew eyed the doorway before making a run for it, only to be stopped my Remus and Sirius and pushed back harshly. The larger man looked between both Harry and myself and i squirmed under his gaze."Harry, look at you! Y-you look just like your father. Like James." He spoke to Harry who looked at the man in disgust before she turned to me. "Oh and Phoenix, you have the same eyes as your mother. Like Katie's." His gaze met mines and I looked away quickly, looking straight to Remus who watched the moment intently before Sirius quickly shut down the situation.
"Shut up!" Sirius yelled, looking from me and Harry to Pettigrew who turned to him quickly while I moved closer to Harry.
"I didn't mean to! The dark lord, you have no idea the weapons he possesses. Ask yourself what you would have done, Sirius. What would you have done!" The larger man asked, a sense of pleasing in his voice as he looked to Sirius who shook his head angrily at the man.
"Died! Died rather than betray my friends! And you should have realised, Peter, if Voldemort didn't kill you..." Sirius trailed off as everyone's stared at the two men as Remus stepped forwards.
"We, would." He said it like it was a promise and for a second, I focused only on that moment, not listening to anything else but the fact that all this time, all these years, I had no idea what truly happened to my mother and now, now I knew who did it and he was standing right in front of me.
"No." Harry's tone broke me from my thoughts as I looked to him quickly,
"Harry, this man-" Remus began but Harry quickly cut him off, shaking his head at the man.
"I know what he is. But we'll take him to the castle." Harry looked back at me and I nodded, knowing where he was going with this. The easy way out would be killing him on the spot.
"Bless you boy! Bless you-" Pettigrew wailed as he grabbed onto Harry's arm, but the boy quickly yanked it away from him.
"Get off! I said we'd take you to the castle. After that, the dementors can have you." Harry threatened the man and I shuddered at the thought of those ghastly things.
As we made our way out of the whomping willow, I took a deep breath, thankful to be out of that awful room and into the night air. I was exhausted, ready to sleep off the events of the day and push all the thoughts to the back of my brain for a while. I stared up at the moon as I wandered around the open area by the tree. As I thought through things, I stopped in my tracks, looking to the moon quickly as I realised what day it was. It was a full moon. I looked to Harry and Sirius who were stood staring up at the castle before I was distracted by the sound of Hermione's voice, quiet and shaky.
"Harry." She whispered and I turned on the spot, stumbling back as my gaze fell on Remus who was staring up at the full moon. Quickly I made my way over to my friends, staring at my god father as he began to change into something I have never quite seen before.
"Remus, old friend... did you take your potion tonight?" Sirius asked frantically as we watched as he twitched and shook, his hand shaking and his neck twitching. "Run. All of you. Now." Sirius instructed us, but none of us moved, all frozen in fear of moving.
"You know the man you truly are, Remus. This flesh is only flesh." Sirius tried to talk down the man, drumming on his chest where his heart was. "This heart is where you truly live. This heart! Here!" Sirius yelled, still pounding on Remus's chest. But his hand dropped, his wand rolling to the floor. I watched in horror and Pettigrew jumped forward, picking up Remus's wand.
"No! Expelliarmus!" Harry yelled. The wand flew from Pertigrew's hand, he froze but turned to us, grinning and transforming back into Scabbers , before quickly scurrying away. A howl pierced the air as I quickly looks back to Remus who was no longer himself, his fur was thick and his eyes held violence. Slowly, I stepped forwards, unsure of if this was going to work or not.
"Remus." I whispered while everyone edged back, my heart broke as he growled towards us and I quickly stumbled back. We ran, but ended up running straight into Snape, all of us pile on top of him as he pushed us off before we all stood up quickly.
"Potter!" He seethed bur before he could say anything more, a low growl from behind him made him turn quickly, immediately placing his arms across us all as a way to protect us. . I watched in horror as Remus prepared to attack us, those few moments were the first ever time that I thought I may die. But as I closed my eyes, I quickly opened them once again at the sound of a dog barking, Sirius jumped on Remus, attacking his as a way to distract him. Remus and Sirius wrestled aggressively before eventually Remus three Sirius off of him, sending Harry running after him, Remus turned to us all and caught my eye before running off after Harry, leaving all of us in shock. Hermione and I tried to push through but it was no use, Snape kept us help back in a bid to possibly not loose anymore students. But as I tore away from the others, I stopped in my tracks, suddenly loosing my footing as the world span and I felt myself collapse to the ground.
"Phoenix?" Ron yelled over to me as I heard Hermione running to me and then the world went dark and my thought escaped me.
