CHAPTER 26

Bea slowly opened her eyes.

She was sitting at the lowerbox. The blindfold was gone. But still, everything was so dark, she can't see anything.

"Ano nanaman ba to" Bea cursed under her breath.

Bea was about to lose her temper when suddenly, a light flashed that made her squirt her eyes.

When she was able to adjust to the light, she realized that it came from the big screen.

Even if the big screen was only the source of light, she knew that she was inside the MOA Arena.

Who would forget? This was the place wherein they won the championship on her last year.

These corners were one of her happiest place on earth.

But her attention was caught when words were flashed at the screen.

"Sit back and relax, Bea. Just enjoy the whole video.

P.S. We have popcorn for ya!"

Bea giggled and grabbed the popcorn on her side.

"Nag-graduate lang naman ako. Ang dami na nilang kalokohan." Bea shook her head.

Then the songs by LANY started playing from the background.

It formed a huge smile from her while eating the popcorn.

Then, the video started playing.

It was a tape from the championship game.

"23-24! Ateneo up by one as they are now on championship point!"

"Bea de Leon, playing her last game in UAAP, is about to go to the service line."

"There goes the whistle of the referee, de Leon serves, and ohhhhh! An ace!"

"Bea de Leon! Bringing the championship back to Katipunan!"

"BDL made history on her final year!"

Bea just tried to hold back her tears as confetti covered the lense of the camera.

Next scene, the former and current Lady Eagles were on cam.

"Alyssa, what can you say about Bea?"

"Bully! De joke lang hahaha! All I can say is she became more mature and braver, and I couldn't be more proud as an Ate."

"How about you, Den?"

"I can recall the first time me and Alyssa saw her outside the gym. And from that time on, we knew that she has a bright future ahead, and we didn't made a mistake."

"Ikaw Jia?"

"Even if lagi niya akong inaaway, she knows when to be mature when we need it the most. Nung season 79 nga, parang siya na yung captain eh! And almost all of my sets were converted to points by Bei. Truly, JiBea is irreplacable."

"How about you guys?"

"Bea was always there for us even if busy ang schedule niya." Therese said.

"She stood humble admist all these fame and achievements." Kat proudly said.

"Not only she helps me on the court, but on school as well. She's succesful in both academics and volleyball." Maddie smiled.

"She's been a great friend of mine. She's always been there for us through ups and downs." Said Jho.

"She is the type of Ate everyone needs." Deanna and Dani said in unison.
