I haven't slept in two days. Why, you ask? I haven't gotten Landon's face out of my mind and I wanted to fling myself in front of a truck.
It was Wednesday morning, and I hadn't seen Landon at all. I hadn't texted him or called him, either. Truffle was supposed to be back at school, and I was anxious to tell him. I didn't text him about it.
"Mom, hurry!" I said.
"Where you in such a hurry to get to school?" Mom asked, picking her purse up. "I thought you despised school."
"Truffle's coming back today," I said. "And, uh, I need to tell him something."
"Alright," Mom said. "We should get you a car. You saved your money from summer, right?"
"I was saving that for college, but maybe," I said, getting in the passenger seat of the car.

Truffle was already at my locker when I got there.
"Hey, girl," Truffle said.
"Nice eyeliner," I said.
"Ah, thank you!" Truffle exclaimed. "I made them big enough to fly away from my problems."
"Yeah," I said, crossing my arms. "Uh, I need to tell you something."
"Right, what happened?" Truffle asked, rolling his sleeves up.
"Landon and I," I paused, inhaling. "We kissed?"
"Girl, what?!" Truffle shrieked. I waved my hands, signaling him to quiet down.
"And we haven't talked to each other, at all," I said. "And I think I really screwed up."
"I don't know if you know about this," Truffle said. "But some girl I follow on Insta made a video about you." I inhaled deeply again.
"I know," I said.
"It's rough, girlie," Truffle said. I nodded, and stared at my feet.
"Anyways, Ryan and I may be getting back together," Truffle said. I mentally groaned. Ryan wasn't a good impression on Truffle. I didn't exactly support the idea of them, but I wanted Truffle to be happy.
