"Is that it?" Roman asked gently. I racked my brain. I told them about the bodies but not who they were specifically. I warned them about Clementine but not about what his mother or I would do to her... they now knew they were looking for a white wolf. I nodded.

"Yeah, that's it." I said, my gaze lingering on Roman as my mind repeated the horrific bloody image of his death.

"It's a vargulf." Destiny said, walking quickly into the other room.

"What?" I asked as Roman helped me up.

"A vargulf. It's like a mentally unhinged werewolf created by shifting when there isn't a full moon or dying without being killed properly." She said, rummaging through cupboards and draws as she took out jars and bowls.

"To kill a werewolf, and for it to stay dead you have to chop there heads off." Peter whispered, suddenly next to me.

"So what do we do?"

"You don't do anything. You're kids. You'll go to school and update me on anything that comes your way but you don't go looking for trouble - you hear me?" She said, looking up and staring at us each in turn.

"That's..." I begun, ready to argue my case before the urge disappeared. Maybe she was right. If we stayed away we'd be safe - and all those awful things wouldn't happen to the people I loved.

"Bullshit. Like hell were sitting this one out because were too young." I looked over at Roman to see a fierceness in the way he held himself. One foot forward and his fists clenched. Ready for a fight. My shoulders slumped. Of course I couldn't keep them from getting involved or getting hurt. He was going to end up doing what gets him killed anyway.

"Destiny's a bitch." I muttered under my breath.

"Excuse me?" She said, her wide eyed gaze stunned.

"No I - I meant fate. Fate's a... it doesn't matter. The point is, Roman's right. There is no way you can't include us in this. We're already in it. The least we can do is help get this whole thing behind us. We can do it - I've seen it." I said, my lip scrapping against my teeth.

"We can help D, what do you need?" Peter asked, taking hold of her hand. After staring at him in silence she sighed.

"Hair. Or dna - maybe she left something behind on the last crime scene." Roman smiled.

"Thanks to Clementine, we know exactly where that is." My palms clamming up I forced a smile on my face. I couldn't sit by and do nothing. The leader I could do was prolong the inevitable.

"Great. We'll get it for you after school." I said, pulling my hair up into ponytail. Peter looked at me then, the space between his eyebrows crinkling. I rested my hands on my hips.

"Don't look at me like that. I just remembered you have a girlfriend." His cheeks turned pinkish and he looked to the floor.

"She's not my..." he stopped mid sentence, his cheeks deepening in colour. I nudged him gently with my elbow.

"Come on. I could use some good right about now. Introduce us?" Jutting my bottom lip out and giving him the biggest eyes I could manage he finally nodded.

"Wait, you have a girlfriend and slept with them? I do not understand your generation, at all."

"She's not my... look, things are complicated right now okay? A week ago I was just trying to get through high school in one piece and then Roman started showing interest in me and then Leetha started talking to me and then you came out of nowhere and just... last night was a spur of the moment thing. We had fun and I wouldn't change it for the world but Leetha and I haven't had the talk yet and we should probably have the talk also -"

"- how about this. Last night was a one time thing. You go and be with Leetha and we will... figure out what this is." I said, looking up at Roman and feeling my heart skip. Without a word Roman bent down and kissed me.

"But if you're ever feeling lonely or... in the mood, our arms are always open." Roman said, brushing Peter's fringe back out of his face and kissing him too. I bit my lip at the way Peter held onto Romans arm. When our attention returned to the room Peter had a half smile on his face and Destiny was frowning.

"What's wrong?" Roman asked before I could. She bit her lip, taking each of our palms and staring at them.

"Nothing. I just... nothing. You're going to be late for school. You should get going." She said, smiling though it didn't seem genuine.

"See you later D." Peter said, kissing her cheek.

"I'm driving." Roman announced, snatching the keys from Peter who scoffed and snatched them back.
