When I turned into my street I felt my eyelids droop. I was almost home. Which, for some reason didn't bring me any source of comfort. It would be quiet, and it would be cold despite the humid evening air because they weren't with me. My soulmates apparently. I mean it wasn't much of a leap. It did make sense to some degree. When were slept together everything felt right in the world - and that did explain the way I had between them in my vision. I guess the only part that didn't make sense was Leetha. I rubbed my thumb against my bottom lip as I approached the bottom of the road. Destiny hadn't met Leetha yet maybe she was part of our love triangle. Or square I guess. I winced. No that probably wasn't right, exactly if it concerned her cousin... unless they weren't actually related and she was secretly adopted?
I laughed quietly to myself. This was ridiculous! I needed sleep and to switch my brain off for a few hours and stop worrying. It was giving me a headache. I snapped my fingers. I needed to text Roman to se if he was feeling better. Pulling up I frowned at where I was. I had gone on autopilot and now I was 'awake' I realised I was at Peter's house. Of course, I thought as I got out the car and made my way to the front door. Unless... my feet steps faltered. Unless she was with him now. What if I knocked on the door expecting Peter and she just popped her head around the corner sleepily, her hair a nest. A beautiful nest. Who was I kidding. Her hair probably didn't tangle. As I started to the creaky stairs I couldn't shake the feeling. I should have texted first. Sighing, I turned to leave.
"You're going to come all this way to leave again?" Turning I noticed Peter poking his head out of the window. When I saw him I smiled. From what I could see he was shirtless.
"I was at Destiny's and I - I know it's pretty late but I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep by myself and then I found myself coming here but then my anxiety was convincing me that Leetha was here and that if I turned up here at -" I looked down at my watch. How long had I been driving around? "-2 in the morning she'd know we did it. I also learnt that she's not carrying your baby. So. There's that." He laughed, closing the window and opening the door. I had been right. He was only wearing a pair of blue boxers.
"I told you - I may be with Leetha but you're still my friend. Now come inside. I can warm up some milk." He said, pulling me into a hug.
