Jeni stopped at the main door and played with a lock of her hair nervously. Brian stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her in the neck.

“You can do it, my love. She won't reject you.”

“What if she does?”

“Well, if she does, you can still go back home with me. My mother and my father won't kick you out, you know. They love you a lot.”

“I can't do it, Brian.”

Brian sighed and gently pressed her against his chest. He slowly rocked her to calm her down.

“Jenifer, you can do it.”

Jeni shivered, hearing Brian use her full name. She deeply inhaled and sighed, closing her eyes firmly. Blindly, her hand looked for Brian's, before holding it. Brian smiled and ran a hand through her hair to encourage her. He was staring at her, waiting for a sign that would indicate that she was ready to go up. As if she could see Brian through her closed eyelids, she nodded and let go of his hand. She grabbed her heavy suitcase and opened the door, holding it for Brian, who was carrying her canvases and her turntable. They got in and slowly went up the stairs, to the first floor. They put down all the things they were carrying and Jeni shyly knocked on the door she was facing. She waited, tapping her foot nervously and sometimes throwing a worried look at Brian. Then, the door opened, and Bonnie appeared.

“Yes?” she said, before her eyes widened. “Jeni?!”

“I'm back, Bon'.”

Bonnie covered her mouth with her hands and jumped in the arms of her friend. Jeni, feeling the tears coming to her eyes, sniffed and finally bursted into tears, soon followed by her blonde friend. Brian crossed his arms, watching the scene with half a smile drawn on his face. It was hard for him to let her go, but she wanted to go back to Euston, with Bonnie. He could not stand against her. She was free.

Finally, the two friends broke off their embrace, and Bonnie stroked Jeni's hair, with a happy smile on her face and tears of joy. Then, she turned to Brian and bypassed Jeni's belongings to reach him. She opened her arms and pulled him into a friendly hug, which he could not refuse. Jeni did not seem to worry about it. Bonnie was forgiven.

“I'm sorry that I harmed you, Brian. I overreacted for no reason, and see where it led us! I don't want it to happen anymore!”

“You're forgiven, Bonnie. But you know, my pardon doesn't matter.”

Bonnie's eyes widened and she broke off their embrace to stare at him.

“Of course it does!”

Brian laughed and shook his head, making his curls float along with it. Jeni hid her grin as she was amazed by how her boyfriend was gorgeous when he shook his curls. Laughing, Bonnie reached her hand to Brian, which he took and shook. They chuckled and Bonnie went back to Jeni.

“Oh, love, I'm so sorry for everything. I shouldn't have put you down, I was terribly jealous, and... I actually think that Brian deserves you. He deserves someone as talented and beautiful as you. I mean it.”

“Thank you, Bonnie” Jeni blushed. “You don't need to apologise, you're forgiven already.”

The blonde smiled widely and pulled Jeni into a hug once again, before helping the couple to bring Jeni's belongings inside. Brian closed the door and followed the girls to Jeni's bedroom. The latter threw her suitcase on her bed and opened it.

“Where do I put your canvases, sweetheart?” Brian whispered.

“Inside my wardrobe, dear. But don't bother tidying everything, you can just sit and do whatever you want.”
