After explaining to Mum and the boys that Skyla lost the baby, tears were freely falling from my eyes. I pulled Skyla up off the lounge and brought her into my room with me, I got her changed into a pair of my track pants and one of my hoodies and I got changed into something similar. I pulled her under the covers with me and let our sniffles and cries fill the room for the next few hours until we fell asleep.
I woke up when the sun hit my face, a sleeping, heartbroken and tired Skyla wrapped in my arms. I kissed her forehead before getting out of bed and walking into the kitchen where Beau and Jai were sitting at the breakfast island bar. I went to make myself a cup of coffee and spoke to my brothers for a while.
Beau – ‘How are you kid?’
Me – ‘That baby meant a lot to me mate. I’m only just pulling through, but I don’t know about Skyla. She’s absolutely heartbroken.’
Jai – ‘She would be bro. I think you two need to take the doctors offer and go on that holiday. Get your minds off the whole thing for a while.’
I nod and continue drinking my coffee when I see Skyla walk into the kitchen with tear-stained cheeks and my shirt on. ‘Hi guys.’ Beau and Jai hold out their arms for her to cuddle them and she slowly walked into their little group hug. She pulled away and came over to me, wrapping her arms around my waist and kissing my cheek. I looked down into her blue eyes. They’re not shining like they used to.
‘Good morning babe, how are you feeling?’ She does a frowny face and digs her head into my shirt again. I can hear her sniffling so I pull her into the other room and pull her on top of me on the couch and explain to her that we are taking that trip and going away for 2 weeks.
‘Baby, we’re going on that trip to Hamilton Island. Go upstairs pack your stuff for the beach and enough clothes for 2 weeks and we’re leaving okay. I’ll be upstairs in 5 minutes.’ She nods and kisses my lips very softly and sweetly.
I run into mums room and wake her up, ‘Sorry to wake you up mum, me and Skyla are leaving for our holiday today. I’ll get Beau to drive us to the airport. I’ll call you when we land.’ I kiss her cheek and give her a tight squeeze.
‘Beau! Can you drive me and Sky to the airport in an hour?’
‘Yep okay.’
I race up the stairs into my room where I see Skyla going through her clothes. I grab my small suitcase and pack my clothes too. Half an hour later me and Sky finish packing all our stuff and we head off to the airport. We go to the stand where the tickets for Hamilton Island are being sold and buy 2 tickets with seats right next to each other. The flight is 6 hours long so we get a personal room as well so we can sleep before we get there.
Once we buy our tickets we walk back over to Beau, ‘Hey we have to board the plane now, I’ll call you when we land, tell the other boys that we’ll be back in 2 weeks. Seeya then bro.’ I gave him a brotherly hug as well as Skyla and we walked off into the boarding area to get on to the plane.
Skyla’s POV
We board the plane and go to our personal room. There are 2 beds in the wall and a little fridge and bathroom too. Me and Luke climb into one of the beds and cuddle up falling asleep. 5 hours later we wake up an hour before we land. We decide to just stay cuddled up in bed until we land.
I pulled out my phone and plugged in my headphones, I pressed shuffle on the music app. The first song that came up is Promise by Romeo Santos Feat. Usher. I smile when I hear the lyrics and think of me and Luke. Our promise to continue to love each other way past forever. I feel a hot tear run down my cheek. ‘Why are you crying babe?’
I start the song again and pull out one headphone and let Luke listen to the song too. Once the song soon finished and he was crying as well. ‘That song reminds me of us. Remember when we first met, you promised to never ever put a bruise on me, to never cheat on me, that you’ll always be there for me, and to catch me when I fall? I love that song.’
Luke nods and says, ‘It will take longer than infinity years to break those promises baby. I Love You and that song.’ I press next on my phone and Never Let You Go by Justin Bieber comes on. I pull out the headphones and listened to Luke sing to me while staring into my eyes. When he sang, ‘I’ll never let you go.’ I started crying again, because he means it.

By the end of the song, there were tears of love and happiness rolling down my face. ‘I love you Lukey.’ ‘I love you too Sky, and I promise you that I will love you way past forever, I will never ever ever let you go, you mean too much for me to ever do anything else.’
I press next on my phone and Up comes on and I decide to sing to Luke this time.

We stay cuddled up until Luke says, ‘You have an amazing voice baby, you should sing more often.’ I think I’m a pretty good singer, but not amazing. The plane finally lands and we get out of the bed and head off the plane. I pull out my phone and call Beau.
‘Hey Beau, we just landed. Yes we are okay. No we didn’t have sex on the plane. Hahaha. Tell Jai, James and Skip we say hi. Love you too. Okay talk to you tomorrow.’
