Hours passed. Like the blink of an eye. Stuart had came back and sat down, but barley spoke. It was so quiet and still. Half an Earth day had passed by until we slowed, almost to a stop and Christopher stood and turned to us. "Welcome, soldiers. Welcome to your new home." We started cheering, clapping. We had discovered something no man has even laid eyes on. A planet for life. A galaxy, full of opportunities. Full of discoveries. I couldn't help but smile. The planet was Earth-like. Had a thick atmosphere, blue oceans, large green continents. It was more land than water. Only one bad thing- The planet had rings. Those would cause a problem. But we had to take a chance. We've been at this for years and we couldn't give up yet. "Kinda gives me a Mass Effect feeling." Stuart chuckled and flashed me a smile. "But what I wouldn't give to be at home listening to the Humanz album right now." Amelia said with that weird cocky grin of her's. "What I wouldn't give to be at home with Sydney." Amelia scoffed. "You People and your kids." Stuart furrowed his eyebrows. "What would you know about kids, Amelia? the longest relationship you've been in has only lasted for a month." Amelia scoffed once more. "Well at least the person I dated didn't get caught making out with some other guy in the bathrooms of the collage! And left me with a kid who's spoiled rotten and-" And before I could do anything, Stuart popped Amelia in the mouth. "If you EVER talk about me and my daughter again I'll punch you between the eyes so hard your tacky glasses will snap in half. My daughter is beautiful and well disciplined! So think before you open your mouth again." I haven't seen Stuart that angry in a long time. "Calm down guys..." I reached out, touching Stuart's arm. "You.... Go lie down a-and take a nap, huh?" I watched Amelia wallow around in the floor of the shuttle for a few seconds before I went and got her some napkins. "Don't mess with Stuart anymore... He gets upset when someone mentions his ex... or talks about Sydney... That even makes me mad... I basically help raise Sydney since she doesn't have a motherly figure..." Amelia presses the napkins to her lip gingerly. "Your boyfriend really knows how to swing those hands, Clem..." I blush. "He's not my...." Christopher faced us. "Get ready to land. Equip your helmets and oxygen tanks." I stood and went to get Stuart when I saw him walk into the room, fully equipped with his helmet and tanks.
We began to land, the capsule catching fire from entering the atmosphere. The capsule it's self would not be harmed by it. As we landed on the rocky surface of the planet, we smelled the aroma of air that has not yet been polluted with factories or planes or cars. It was awesome. It was beautiful here. "Set up our station. We'll be here for a few weeks." As we stepped off the shuttle, I couldn't help but smile. And I said to myself, "Welcome to HomeWorld.... Population unknown."
