"God- It's cold-" Amelia griped. "No, it's not-" Stuart looked at her. Christopher looked over at Amelia. She was pale, but only a bit lighter than usual.
Back at camp Amelia got worse. She had.. a fever. Which meant, it could affect us.
I started down to the ground, in a daze. "Can't go five minutes without gettin' yelled at....." Alexander grumbled.
"What happened this time?" I asked with a sigh as I spoke.
"Your boyfriend's bein' a jackass.."
I looked up at the brunette with a glint in my eyes.
"Wha'd he do?" I asked, very much unamuse. I stared into Alexander's eyes, my cold, icy blue eyes, burned into his darker blue ones as he took a step back.
"You know what?" He chuckled nervously. "Imma leave you alone!"
I watched Alexander walk out of the containment station. "Strike 'em dead, Clem-" I told myself. I left to go outside to see how much of a 'Jackass' Stuart was actually being.
"Hey carrot top! Go make yourself useful and help take care of Amelia.!" Violet demanded. "And while your at it, you can tell Stuart to hurry up with lunch!"
A smile crept across my face. Alexander was being a baby because he was hungry. I shrugged it off. "Right then!" I smiled and staggered off to find my blujay and see what he was cooking up. Of course Violet told me to take care of Amelia but, what was there to do? Christopher had his doctoring degree so he had it covered. "We have to get off this godforsaken planet, Clemintine...." Christopher met me as I rounded a corner.
"Amelia, she's.... dying..." He shook his head, looking at the ground. I knew for sure this wasn't a dumb joke. Christopher has seem so much death, he wouldn't play about it.
"There is nothing I can do until we get back to earth-" Christopher's voice trails off and he begins to space out. I look down with momentary grief as I stagger off, still in search of Stuart. He was in the 'Kitchen' or, you know, the part of our camp where we got the food. He nodded his head to the beat of a song as he sung along. Like I said before, Stuart had always had a good voice.
"Don't get lost in heaven... they got locks on the- Clemintine!" Stuart exclaimed, pausing the song. His face here red. Nobody's heard Stuart don't in almost a year. The only thing I know is that he sings to Sydney.
"S-say, Clem?" He tripped over his words. "Come taste this, eh?" Stuart held up a spoon with some kind of broth in it.
"Christopher told me to cook soup so tha' Amelia could eat it too." He rolled his eyes and brushed his bangs from his face.
"Uh, ok.." I took a step forward and the Brit held the spoon to my lips as I sipped the broth.
"Needs some salt" I smiled at him. "But other than that, it's really good." The tall male gave me a gap tooth smile.
"Clemintine, we have to talk" Christopher tapped my shoulder gently and led me behind the center.
"She's hanging on by a thread and... I'm afraid there's nothing else I can do. Not even the technology back home will help...." I felt my heart jump up to my throat as a thought hit me.
Stuart....
I fought the urge to break down in tears.
"I suggest telling Stuart you love him as many times as you can.... I'm Sorry" Christopher nodded and walked off. His words had hit me like a ton of bricks.
I dropped to my knees, clawing at the ground.
Sydney...
My warm tears hit the soft, orangeish pink dust.
Our journey would end before we got back to Earth. This is it. I'm going to be....
