"Load everything up, crew," Christopher put Amelia on the shuttle. "But! We were supposed to be here for a month!" Violet crossed her arms.
"We can't. Not with Oo'kaan lurking around the camp."
I basically stayed on Stuart, afraid he'd be next. I tried my best to stay calm, but how could I?
"Yew alright, Clem? Yew seem a bit clingy" Stuart looked down to me with those beautiful, dark eyes of which I avoided while I stayed clung to his arm.
"Yea, just uh,.." I acted like I had zoned out, when in reality I was thinking of something to tell him.
"Alright, we have Amelia strapped down in the living quarters so I need to set up some rules," Christopher said. "One, you cannot sleep in the living quarters any longer because of the risk of everyone getting sick..."
I don't think nobody knew about the whole dying thing but me and Christopher. I stayed close to my blujay. I didn't want to lose him.
"That's the last of it..." Alexander huffed and dusted himself off.
"We cannot leave a trace here..." Christopher warned. "Could disturb some of the weird wildlife..."
We boarded the shuttle. It was too quiet. Way too quiet...... The only sounds were the sounds of Amelia coughing up her lungs ever few minutes. "Okay, let's call role... Stuart, Clemintine, Alexander, Violet, and Amelia..." Christopher would make a mark by the names on his clipboard every time he'd see the person he was calling on.
"Sit anywhere, it's fine..." Christopher took a seat in his pilots seat. Alexander started looking for food. Violet sat in the co-pilots seat. And me and Stuart snuggled up in a corner. These last moments we had were important to me. I eventually drifted off into sleep. That is, until Alexander shouted, "We don't have enough food to last until we get back to Earth!" That's when the ship really got quiet. The only sound to break the silence was the soft pur of the engines. Christopher put the shuttle on auto pilot. "Alexander, I thought you got everything...." the larger male snarled.
"I-I did!" Alexander tripped over his words as Christopher tightly gripped his shoulders. "See! That's the crate!" Alexander gulped. Christopher peered over into the nearly empty crate.
"Right! Now, we have to rashion the food...-"
"That's fun!" Stuart chirped out.
"Shut it, blue bird!" Christopher snarled. "Uh, you guys!" Violet called out from Amelia's room.
"I think Amelia is not okay! She isn't breathing...."
Time seemed to just stop.
"Clemintine?.." Stuart's voice was fuzzy. "Clementine...? Clem!" He popped me on the head, snapping me out of whatever daze I was in.
"I want yew t' tell me wha's happenin' t' yew" His dark blue eyes burned into my lighter ones.
"I can't..." I fought to choke back the tears.
"Why not?" Stuart argued. "It's not going to scare me! I just need to know what you do! If it is about Amelia dyin' an all, I already know..." His eyes filled with warm tears. "I know I'm going to die...." Stuart weeped.
I kissed his tears away, though my cheeks were still stained. We stared into each others eyes for a moment before Stuart kissed my lips softly. His lips were softer than I imagined and the hairs on his top lip tickled my top lip. He pulled away from me after a few seconds, hugging me close. I savored this for it may be our first and last kiss. And it would most likely be the last moment of the feeling of his sweet love. I dreaded his death. I knew it would come soon and I hated it. Poor Sydney. She'd be crushed. Nothing would be the same without his sweet British accent chirping out every morning with a 'Good mornin', Luv!' But the thing is miss most was the smile..... His beautiful smile. I hate it. I hate it so much.... I won't be able to live without my Stuart....Sorry for the odd ending but it's getting good. Love you all 💜
