I looked in the mirror and the right corner of my lips turned up. I felt happy with my look. I was dressed in a long black dress, my hair flowing back and my makeup consisted of red lips and mascara, not too much.

I could hear faint voices through my closed bedroom door. Great, some people were already there. I checked my phone for any texts or missed calls and walked downstairs.

I didn't like all the eyes on me as I walked down the stairs, some were filled with admiration, some with judgement and some with a bored look. I was just happy that there weren't much people at the moment but I was pretty sure more people would be joining us at this party.

When Nora and Jasmine came near my sight, I practically ran towards them, giving other people a smile on my way.

"Thank God you guys are here, I was feeling anxious because of all these eyes on me." I muttered

"You look really pretty, Val." Jasmine complimented as she spun me around admiring my dress.

"You look prettier" I blew her a flying kiss.

"Yes girl you can like, get it tonight!" Nora remarked

"Shh keep it down, Dummie. I'm not getting laid at my parents house."

"Who's getting laid?" Gabriel asked as he put his arm around my shoulder.

"Your sister is." Nora sipped on her drink and I didn't hesitate to slap her arm.

"Well yeah who knows she might actually get laid tonight." Gabriel joined in the joke and all the three of them laughed.

"Ew, Gabe go away. I'm not talking about getting it infront of you." I scrunched my nose and shook my head.

"Hello, Mrs. Anderson." Both of my friends greeted my mom who suddenly showed up behind me.

"Hello, girls. How are you both doing?" She asked sweetly, I couldn't tell if she was genuinely being sweet or not. I left them talking and walked to the mini bar.

"I'll have a margarita." I settled myself on one of the stools.  The hall was filled with more people now. I reminded myself to greet Dad's and Mom's close friends.

"Make that two." I heard a voice behind me making me turn in my seat and look up to see my eldest cousin, Seth.

I jumped out of the seat and hugged him tightly, he definitely was my favourite cousin. "Seth, how are you? I missed you so much."

"I'm good and I missed you more. Congratulations on your graduation by the way." He handed me a box. I opened up and found a beautiful watch.

"Thanks, this is beautiful" I smiled warmly at him. Soon Carson joined us too and we had a great time catching up and Carson kept cracking silly jokes like he used to do before. God, I missed being around here so much. College, assignments and tests were always stressing me out so I only visited them once while I was in Spain.

I greeted a few other people. I finished my margarita while softly humming to the background music. Nora was probably tipsy somewhere with Jas taking care of her. It was the usual.

The dinner went eventful with Nora giggling after literally every five seconds, she was a happy drunk. It was pretty annoying if you ask me. After dinner Jasmine went to drop her off at her house.

Someone coughed beside me, it was a fake one for sure.

"Who invited you here?" I asked Thiago.

"Gabriel did." He replied, smirking.

"Right." He was friends with my brother after all.

"Why? You don't want me here?"
