Girls are being judged for caring about looks,
Instead of reading books.
But hey, we live in a society,
where pretty is considered mighty.

Girls are being objectified,
and it just leaves me petrified.
A boy in a group of women is a stud,
but a girl in a group of boys is a slut.

100 years ago we weren't allowed to vote,
But now the times have changed, and you should take a note.
Our voices will be heard,
For nothing we ever say is absurd.

I never knew about this world,
Where my pay check would be smaller just because I am a girl.
But my mother always taught me,
That I should not just smile and nod and agree.

Boy, you should see,
We don't know what it is to be free.
Equality is not just about hashtags,
and keeping up with the fads.

Equality Is the truth about breaking the silence,
And maintaining the real balance.
For we will not stop the fights,
until we get all our rights.

For women of every colour, race, size and shape in this world,
That is the truth about being a girl.
