The boring, uneventful week dragged on, feeling like years instead of days. I avoided Michael as best as I could and tried not to find myself around Calum or Ashton. I felt guilty for making such a big deal but what happened two years ago was awful. I was too embarrassed, and quite honestly, too disappointed to talk with them. For the week I stuck with Luke and Caroline.

School had just ended Friday and I slung my backpack on the floor near my bed when my phone rang. I climbed onto my bed, lying on my stomach as I answered. It was Caroline. We exchanged hello's before I asked her what she wanted.

"Do you have party clothes?" she asked and I pressed my lips together in thought.

"Um, not really. I mean, maybe." I knit my eyebrows together, tugging on a stray piece of hair hanging out from my pony tail. "Why?"

"We're going to a party tonight," Caroline declared and I groaned, burying my face in my covers. "Oh, c'mon, you've got to have some fun!"

"Who's party?"

"This guy named Noah. He's, like, super popular." she explained and I could practically hear her excitement. I didn't want to let her down and I figured a party wouldn't be too bad. I needed to do something interesting. I've just been avoiding people all week.

"Fine," I sighed, standing up to look through my closet. "When you say party clothes, what do you mean?"

"I don't know," I imagined her confused facial expression that I've seen often. "I don't go to many parties. What are you thinking?"

I remembered that Caroline was still the girl who wore minimal make up and bright yellow shirts. Just because she goes to parties doesn't mean the easily embarrassed and pink cheeked girl is gone.

"Um, well, what time does it start? We could go shopping before if we have time." I offered and Caroline squealed.

"Yes! It starts at eight so there's no problem! Meet you at the mall in twenty minutes?"

"Yep," I popped the 'p', hanging up. I quickly grabbed my purse with my car keys inside and took the stairs two at a time. "Dad, I'm going to the mall!" I called out, before shutting the door behind me.

Caroline and i successfully found clothes we both loved so we took them to her place. I decided I'd just get ready there. I sent a text to my parents telling them I would be out tonight with Caroline for a bit, promising to be home by eleven, and purposefully leaving out the whole party part. What they didn't know wouldn't hurt them.

"Let me see," Caroline sang from outside her bathroom. I was putting on the outfit I bought and was happily surprised by how nice it looked.

I stood infront of her ceiling to floor mirror, taking in my appearance. I had ripped navy skinny jeans that clung to my legs and a red tank top covered with a black leather jacket. Converse covered my feet and I straightened my long hair to perfection. I went for more daring make up than my usual everyday look. I used a simple brown eyeshadow with liquid eyeliner on top and dark black pencil eyeliner beneath my eyes. I topped it off with mascara and put on some red lip stain that matched my shirt.

I stepped out of the bathroom, giving a twirl for Caroline. She teasingly applauded me before complimenting me left and right.

We left her house at the time the party started so we wouldn't be there just on time. It's always awkward being the first one there.

By the time we arrived at this kid Noah's house, it was dark outside and his house was lit up. You could hear the music from where we parked (which was far back due to the amount of people already there). I double checked to make sure I had my phone before entering his house from the gate leading to the back. Caroline promised we were supposed to go inside from the back door, which we did.
