"I don't understand why I have to go to school registration, I don't use my locker anyways." I said with a groan.
"Because son, this is the last chance to change your classes around, and you're required to go for a school picture." My dad said, rolling his eyes.
We went through this argument every year.
Even though I got straight A's, I always felt like I was a disappointment to my father.
So I sighed, grabbed my serpent jacket, and went and waited out in the car for my dad.
"Do you not see the 'for sale' sign right in the car's window?" He asked me.
"Oops."
"Yeah oops my ass, get your bike keys."
To be honest, I didn't mind riding my motorcycle, it's just that everyone at Riverdale stereotypes, and driving a bike to Riverdale High just makes me uncomfortable.
When we arrived, students were already bustling to get their classes switched, get lockers put together, and to catch up with friends and teachers.
I rolled my eyes and went over to get my student ID picture taken as my dad was talking to one of my teachers.
After I got it taken, I walked over to Sweet Pea, Fangs, Toni, and Cheryl, who were sitting at our lunch table near the vending machines, talking.
"Hey guys." I said as I came up and sat beside Toni.
"Did you hear?" Toni said excitedly, grabbing my arm.
"What?" I said with a frown. Toni doesn't get exited about much.
"Cheryl said there's a new girl coming!" Toni said with a huge smile.
"Toni, what's so exciting about that?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
"Well," Cheryl started, "I just happen to be related to this new girl, and I can tell you Jughead that she's just your type. I haven't seen her in ten years, but it feels like just yesterday when I last saw her. She's got blonde hair, blue eyes, gets straight A's, is a total good girl, and loves writing. She's super talkative, and I think you two will hit it off! She's being fostered by the Lodges right now though, which is the only bad thing."
I groaned. Of course she's being fostered by the Lodges, other than that, she sounds great.
"Why is she in fostering?" I asked.
"Oh." Cheryl suddenly looked sad. "Well, my aunt, her mom, died in a car accident when she was three, and her dad abused her until she was seven, and no one even knew about it until she ended up in the hospital. None of the close family was willing or able to take her in, so she was shipped off to New York in a cheap foster home that my parents help to pay for because we weren't allowed to take her in because of daddy's past. I haven't seen her since."
"Oh god, that's terrible."
"Yeah, but she was always so positive, I'm sure she'll be over the moon to be back after ten years. Oh look! There's Veronica! And there's-! Wait, that's not Betty!"
In walked Veronica, with a jaw dropping girl behind her. The girl was definitely not what Cheryl described, but Jughead liked this girl better. She had black hair with blue streaks, a nose ring, and definitely did not look like a good girl.
"Jughead, earth to Jughead." Sweet Pea said, waving his hand in front of my face.
"What?"
"You were staring, dude. I'm pretty sure you were drooling." He said laughing. "And I think Veronica noticed.
