🌑Jughead🌑

After Veronica and Betty left, Cheryl turned to me with sympathy in her eyes.

She touched my forearm. "I'm so sorry jughead, you didn't deserve that." She said softly.

I turned back around to sit back at the lunch table, Sweet Pea and Fangs looking at me sympathetically.

I ate the rest of the lunch in silence.

The rest of the day moved by slowly. Everyone stared at me because of the scene in the cafeteria.

I couldn't wait to leave.

After school, I decided to stop by The Lodges and explain myself to Betty.

I drove down the side driveway like Cheryl told me to, and parked my motorcycle by the garage, out of site.

I walked up to the back porch and put my feet on the railings. I grabbed the gutter and pulled myself up onto the roof, right in front of Veronica's window.

Shit.

I saw Veronica's feet by the window, and sighed in relief when I realized that her bed was up against the window, so she wouldn't be able to see me.

I walked past a bathroom window, and then I saw Betty through the window of the extra bedroom.

She was laying on the bed with her head at the feet of the bed, and she could've easily seen me, because the headboard was by the window.

She was staring at the ceiling with her palms flat out on the mattress, and when I walked up she didn't even notice me.

I tapped on the window, trying to get her attention.

Okay. So either she was ignoring me on purpose or she's in a mood. And I knew exactly who caused this mood.

Me.

I look at the window, realizing that the window was unlocked. I slid it open and crawled slowly beside her on the bed.

I looked around, the room was so... empty. It was like she was truly just a guest.

Here for a while but expected to leave.

"Hey." I said slowly, deciding on what else to say.

"Hi." She replied, keeping her eyes glued on the white ceiling.

"Listen, about what Veronica said-"

"I don't care what she said." She cut me off.

"Okay... well just know that I've changed, that's not who I am anymore." She turned to look at me.

She smiled. What's going on?

"I know." She said after a while.

"Okay good, but why aren't you answering my calls or texts then?" I asked.

She sighed. "They took my phone away after I went to the doctor today. They think it's 'negatively affecting my life' and they'll give it back in a couple days, just to see if there's a change in my behavior." She rolled her eyes.

"That's horse shit." I replied.

"I know." She said. "I think the real reason they took it away was so I wouldn't be able to talk to you or Cheryl or make plans with the 'bad kids' at the school. But truth is, I fit in with you guys more."

I grabbed her hand softly. She quickly pulled away.

"...uhm, are you sure you aren't mad at me?" I asked slowly.

"Yeah, you're fine." She said quickly, rubbing her wrist.

I suddenly realized what happened. "Betty..." I said and reached for her hand.
