"Do I have to get up?" I grumbled.
"Yes, just because you have boyfriend issues doesn't mean you can't go to school." Veronica said sternly.
"He's not my boyfriend." I rolled my eyes. He's not even the reason that I don't wanna go to school. Everyone is going to look at me because of what happened. Everyone is gonna tell me how sorry they are, and make me relive it.
I rolled, literally rolled, out of bed and got dressed. I wore a black ripped band crop top with black ripped short shorts, and black converse. I just pulled my hair back in a ponytail and did my makeup. I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs.
Today, Archie was not waiting for us. Instead, a boy with raven hair and a letterman jacket was waiting outside, leaning up against an old mustang.
"Who is that?" I whispered to Veronica.
"Reggie, hey!" Veronica exclaimed, ignoring me.
"Hey V." He said as she came up and kissed him. "Ready to go?"
I went to go open the back door, but Veronica grabbed my hand.
"Betty, do you mind asking Smithers for a ride or walking? I have to talk to Reggie." Veronica said.
I rolled my eyes. Of course she didn't want me stealing her spotlight. She wanted Veggie to be the talk of the school, not my return.
I turned on my heel and started walking down the sidewalk.
I was about a half mile from school when I heard a familiar motorcycle pull up behind me. I groaned.
"Hey you." Jughead said as he slowed down beside me. "Where's Veronica? Why are you walking?"
"Why do you care." I mumbled, walking faster. Jughead just sped up his motorcycle a little.
"Because I care about you. You want a ride?" He asked.
"Not really." I replied.
"Okay, What Veronica said is not at all true, and it's total shit that you're believing her over me. The only reason she told you that was so I wouldn't tell you about her still having feelings for me."
"Of course she does." I rolled my eyes. "That's why she was acting so weird around you."
I looked up at him.
"Are you sure you don't want a ride?" He asked me with a smirk.
I got on behind him. "Do you think you can beat Reggie there? That's who Veronica is riding with." I giggled.
"Most definitely." Jughead said as he started the motorcycle and sped towards school.
We got there exactly the same time as Veronica and Reggie did. Veronica got out of the car and flipped her hair dramatically, trying to draw attention to herself. Reggie got out the driver's side and put his arm around Veronica's shoulders. Veronica smiled as she looked around, but no one was looking at her.
Everyone came rushing up to me as I got off of Jugheads motorcycle, asking me what happened, how I feel, telling me that they're so glad I'm back, etc.
