Stan's POV
"That'll be one hundred fifty dollars" The cashier lady smiled as I handed her my card. She swiped it and handed it back to me, along with the rings.
"Must be a special girl" she adds
"Oh... he's a boy" I correct her
"Well then he must be pretty special." She corrects "I forget that this day in age we can't assume" she giggles
I nod and chuckle "Yep, the times have changed, Thank you!" I walk out and slip the rings into my pocket. Sighing as I walk to the Tucker residence and knock on the door, Laura opens it and smiles as she sees me.
"Why hello there Stanley! Are you looking for Craig?" She asks
"Yeah, is he here?" I ask
"Oh, no. He's at Clyde's, should I tell him you stopped by?" She asks
"No, I'm gonna go over to Clyde's" I Smile and turn, walking to the Donovan's and knocking, Clyde answers.
"What do you want?" Clyde asks
"Is my boyfriend here?" I ask
"Maybe He is and maybe he isn't. If he's here it's to get away from you." Clyde answers, glaring at me
"Clyde who's at the- Stan!" Craig moves past Clyde to hug me, I hug back and flip Clyde off.
"I haven't seen you in a few days! Where have you been?" Craig asks
"Just around. I was sick for one of those days..." I answer
"But you didn't text me or anything! I was worried!" He exclaims
"I'm sorry honey, I'll be sure to text you next time." I kiss his forehead as he pulls away.
"Okay nice visit, bye bye now" Clyde takes Craig's arm and tries to pull him back inside and shut the door.
"No! I wanna spend time with Stan, I've been over here for long enough..." Craig pulls away from Clyde and hugs me. "I've missed him..." he adds
"Ugh fine, as long as I don't have to be around him anymore." Clyde shut the door rather loudly. Craig and I start walking.
"What's Clyde problem with me?" I ask
"He's jealous." Craig answers
"Because you're spending your time with me instead of him?" I ask
"No. Because he likes me." Craig answers
"Oh... but... you don't-" I start
He cuts me off "I love you. Stan."
"Thank god. I love you too Craig." I put my arm around him
"Where are we going?" He asks, glancing up at me
"Uh, Starks Pond?" I suggest
"Sure, But... we're going the wrong way" Craig chuckles and points the other way, I turn us around as start walking the correct way.
"I knew that." I state
Once we get to Starks pond we sit on the bench my arm around him, he's leaning onto me.
"I'm so glad you're okay..." Craig brings the hand that's around him over to his face to kiss my hand.
"Of course I'm okay, my family would contact you if something happened to me" I smile, kissing his hair. He cuddles into me and is shaking slightly.
"Are you cold?" I ask
"A little" he answers
"Well then c'mon, let's go back to my house..." I suggest
"Okay..." He stands up and I do the same.
"Hold on... can I do something?" I ask
"Sure..." Craig answers, I reach for the promise rings and smile as I feel them in my pocket.
"I got us these..." I hold up both of the rings, they have a few sapphire gems on them but overall they're kinda boring, they don't have that much pizazz. Which is a good thing, Craig likes things that are nice and boring. Once I present them to him he smiles and waits for me to finish. "I want to promise myself to you, and I want you to promise yourself to me, I have fallen in love with you, I want to be with you for a long time... perhaps forever... if you'll let me" I blush and look down, Craig takes one of the rings from me and puts it on my left hand's ring finger. I look up and see he's holding his hand out for me to put the ring on him, So I take it and slip it onto his right hand's ring finger. He puts his arms around my neck afterward and kisses me softly. My arms go around his waist as I kiss back. Craig was surprisingly calm. Though I didn't expect some huge reaction from someone like him. He pulls away and sighs happily, taking my hand and walking back to my house with me.
We arrive at my house and go inside, the warm air hitting us as soon as we walk in. We slip off our shoes and I look around as Craig makes his way for the stairs.
"Hello Craig" Mom says looking at him, he stops in his tracks and turns to her, giving a small smile
"Hello" He responds, walking back to my side.
"You haven't been here in a few days, I just kinda assumed you and Stan were broken up" Mom states
"Oh no ma'am. I'm never gonna leave your son, and the feeling is mutual between us" Craig says, Looking at me and smiling.
"It is." I look down at the ring on Craig's hand and I take his hand, showing the ring to mom.
"You proposed Stanley?!" Mom exclaims, happiness and anger are present in her voice.
"No! It's a promise ring, I have one too, see?" I lift up my hand to show her mine.
She sighs, relived "Good. You boys are too young to be making a serious commitment to one another"
"That's what-" "Okay mom, we're gonna go upstairs now." I cut Craig off, taking his hand and leading him up to my room.
"Oh, What, So now I can't speak?" Craig asks as soon as the door latches closed.
"You were gonna correct her and we'd be sitting down there in an argument about it, in my opinion I saved you." I state
"Oh yes thank you, my knight. I needed your saving" Craig says, Sarcastically. I flip him off, I've grown accustomed to doing that since I started dating him, I've spent a lot of time with his family and have picked up some of their habits. He returns the gesture with a smirk and sits on my bed, leaning against the wall, I crawl over and sit next to him. He rests his head on my shoulder.
"It's a lot warmer in here." Craig states
"Thanks, Captain Obvious"
"Fuck you."
"You would."
"That's beside the point"
We both laugh and I put my arm around him.
"Do you think we'll get married?" I ask after the laughter dies down.
"We're wearing the promise rings for a reason, Stan." Craig states
"Oh yeah.." I put my hand out and look at the ring, Craig reaches his hand out to take mine and runs his thumb across it.
"It's such a nice ring..." He says as he examines it.
"Yknow there's one on your finger too, you don't have to look at mine." Saying that earns me a middle finger. He continues his actions afterward, silently.
"How much were these?" Craig asks
"Doesn't matter." I answer
"Yes, it matters to me, I want to know how much I have to pay you." Craig states
"You don't have to pay anything, it's a gift, a symbol of our love." I flip my hand around and take his.
"I'm not winning this am I?" He asks
"Nope" I answer
"Fine." He cuddles into me and I put my arm around him, his legs wrap around one of mine and his arms go around my waist, his head rests on my chest.
"Are you going to try to sleep or something?" I ask
"Mmm Maybe, Why?" He asks
"Because this is how you sleep on me when we sleep together." I answer
"Then yeah.. but dude you're comfortable... it's like sleeping on a marshmallow..." Craig says, chuckling
"Flattering." I shift so we're in a laying position. He pulls the blanket over him, though my bed was made when we sat on it so he just had the little bit that was hanging off my bed around him.
"Goodnight, Stan"
"It's only five..."
"Shh... goodnight"
"Goodnight."
