I always think having people over is a good idea, until it actually happens. Michael was currently with Hannah in the bathroom, attempting to dye is hair another color, Ashton was tearing apart the living room in search for his phone because he had to text his mom back, Luke was trying to make toaster waffles but kept setting off the smoke alarm and Calum was bugging me for something.
"Please Charlie? It would be so funny," Calum was dead set on streaking past my neighbor's house.
"Absolutely not Cal, if your boss saw your status he'd be freaking out," I shook my head while taking away the box of waffles from Luke.
"That's only if someone posted pictures, and nobody would do that," he pressed, following me around the kitchen island.
"I definitely would," the blond pipped up, pushing himself up onto the counter to sit on. "It'd be pretty funny,"
I looked at Calum giving him the 'I told you so look'."Fine, I won't streak past your neighbor's house," he mumbled, turning away from Luke and I when Ashton called him over to help search for his phone.
"You're such a mom, you know that?" Luke remarked.
I get that often, I really am the mom of the group. I take care of everyone when they're drunk off their asses and I'm usually the one to disregard someone's stupid idea, just like Calum. "Yeah," I answered. "I know, but think about it, you all would be dead if I weren't here to watch you."
Luke pursed his lips, "that's true."
Sometimes I wonder what I would do without Luke, even though he bugs me half the time the other half he's pretty great. At times he could be the funny, dumb and crazy Luke that we all know and love but he also has a soft side. Whenever I'm having a near mental breakdown he's always there for me, and whenever I want to watch sappy, romance movies he tolerates them and wraps an arm around my shoulder when they get too sad.
"Found it!" Ashton called, jumping, literally jumping into my kitchen with his phone in hand.
"Where was it?" I questioned.
Calum appeared behind him, "in his fucking pocket the whole time."
I laughed at Ashton, it doesn't surprise me that his pockets were the last place he checked.
"You both better fix the living room, I can't see it but I can already tell it's a complete mess," Luke added, motioning to the room to the right of the kitchen.
"I already picked it up, Calum didn't, but I did!" Ashton grinned, causing Calum to roll his eyes while looking through my refrigerator.
"Lady and immature boys!" A voice, obviously Hannah's sounded around the corner before she came into view. "I introduce, Michael-used-tampon-Clifford!"
A smiling, red-haired Michael came around the corner. His hair was bright red, styled as he usually had it, tiny pieces of blue showed in the back but nothing too noticeable.
"Looks good, Mikey," Luke smiled.
The group echoed in agreement, giving Michael the satisfaction as well as Hannah, who spent half the night dying it for him. Hannah and Michael have always both been close, the other boys and I all have a theory that they're secretly dating and they just haven't told us yet. I could see it happening to be honest, minus the unusual hair colors and Pokemon obsession on Michael's part the two are pretty similar.
"Can we watch a movie?" Ashton asked, snapping me out of my thoughts, "please?"
Much to my dismay, House of a Thousand Corpses was playing on my television, my best friends were spread out the living room; Ashton sitting in the arm chair with his long legs draped over an arm, Michael and Hannah were on the floor, batting each other's hands away in the popcorn bowl, and I was squished in the middle of Luke and Calum. I stretched my legs out onto Calum, knowing he wouldn't mind and I rested my back against Luke as his arm hung loosely around my torso, fully aware of how scared I get in movies like this.
