CHAPTER NINE
BETRAYED

"McCall!"  A voice shouted down the hallway, exiting the principal's office, a voice that sounded agonizingly familiar.

Violet shut her locker door as she prepared to go to class, "Jackson?" she asked as the teenager neared her.

"Tell your boyfriend to stay away from me. And his little pack, too." He snarled before stomping away.

"...the fuck?" Violet whispered to herself as Jackson left the building.

Upon turning back around, Violet yelped when she saw the face of her boyfriend standing behind her with a smile on his face. Isaac leaned in for a kiss, which Violet gladly returned before engulfing him in a hug, "Where have you been? I was worried about you. No calls, texts? You'd didn't even tell me you were going MIA."

"I'm sorry. I was gone because Derek needed to train me. I feel like a new puppy. But at least now I can basically guarantee that what happened at the sheriff's station won't happen again." Isaac apologized.

"Good. Now tell me what Jackson meant by me keeping you away from him. And Erica and Derek." Violet asked.

"Don't worry about it." he said. "Also, uh, I apologize in advance for chemistry class." After that the bell rang and Isaac gave Violet a peck on the cheek before walking off to his first class.

Violet caught up with Scott and Stiles after first period ended, and Stiles was already going on and on about the Kanima, "it's a were-jaguar from South America that goes after murderers."

"That thing was not a jaguar." Scott said.

"Yeah, and Vi and I aren't exactly murderers." Stiles retorted.

"Yeah, but you two did see it kill somebody, which is probably why it tried to kill you. And it's trying to kill you, and it probably won't stop until you're both dead." Scott said as he continued walking off down the hallway, but Stiles and Violet stopped dead in their tracks.

"That wasn't very reassuring." She said while she and Stiles caught up to the teen wolf. "Guys, um, also. Isaac's back." Scott and Stiles' sneakers squeaked on the vinyl floor as they looked back at the younger girl. "He visited me at my locker before I went to first period."

"Why do I get the feeling you're about to add to that seemingly innocent conversation?" Stiles asked.

"Because out of nowhere he started apologizing in advance for chem class today after I asked him why he was MIA for the last two weeks." Violet replied.

"We're going to chemistry after this." Scott realized.

"I thought it would be a good time to bring it up now so we could be cautious."
