Chapter 12 - Acceptance

Millie's POV

"Nick? What are you doing here? Finn said-" I fell on the floor, my face stinging, as I had been slapped across the face. Hard.

"I thought Finn told you that you are forbidden to see him." Nick said, anger seeping through his eyes.

"He did, but he said that you seemed okay with it when he told you that he was with me." I replied.

"I was a bit busy with Joanna, and I wasn't listening to anything he was saying, when he told me he was meeting you here, I pushed him into a closet, locking him on the inside and I came here instead."

"Nick! How could you do that?!" I said, he shrugged whilst glaring at me. "Why do you hate me anyway. You and Finn are so alike! Minus the abusiveness." I said, the last part being quiet so he couldn't hear me. "If Finn loves me, I'd expect you to."

"Millie, you aren't a good influence on my brother! He came home from the party the other night drunk as hell, and he said that you brought him a drink! He also sneaks out of the house to go see you at like 3am! He never did that, or even considered that before you two started dating." He said.

"Okay, but the drink wasn't my fault. I had absolutely no idea it was alcoholic until I woke up the next day hungover." I continued. "And it isn't my fault that he wanted to come to me, it's his choice. It isn't my fault."

Finn's POV

Why the heck would Nick lock me in the closet? He seemed totally cool with me dating Millie, so I'm not sure why he would be going to see her. Wait...he was kinda kissing Joanna while he gave me a thumbs up. He never really cared about what I ever did. What if he went to Millie? What if he hurts her? I have to get out of here.

I look around profusely for a bobby pin. When my mom is home, she uses a crap ton of these, and leaves them everywhere and you can find them in the most random places. (lol who can relate bc honestly me) Finally I found one. For some reason I'm actually really good at picking locks, so I pick the lock, and get out of the closet.

"I'm coming Millie." I said under my breath.

(okay wth that was lowkey super cheesy, sorry you had to read that lol)

I run to the treehouse, jumping over a creek that we used to go to a lot.

I finally arrive at the treehouse, running out of breath. I see Nick facing Millie, pulling his fist back about to punch her. I notice her, noticing me, with pleading eyes. She knows that Nick is going to punch her, and she is obviously asking me to stop. I run up to Nick and punch him in the face as hard as I can. I'm not the strongest, so it wasn't that hard of a punch, but it definitely was enough to do some damage. I notice him walking over to me, anger in his eyes. His blood was boiling.

"FINN WOLFHARD. DO YOU SERIOUSLY WANNA PUNCH ME RIGHT NOW? I'M A BIT UPSET WITH YOU AND I DON'T THINK THAT WAS YOUR WISEST MOVE." He screams. I look over at Millie, and she's backing up to the base of the tree. Fear showing immensely on her face.

"Nick please... I love Millie with all my heart. I promise you that she isn't a bad influence. I could pick out a bad influence in a snap, and she is not one. I love her so much, please...just give her a chance." I say, tears building up in my eyes. I think he can see that I love her. Finally he realises.

"Finn, honestly, all I want is for you to be happy and safe. You had snuck out to that tree every day since you were 8. I always thought she was slowly influencing you, but I guess I just didn't want to accept that you are growing up." He sighed. "You can date Millie. I'm sorry. Plus, I'm leaving soon with Joanna, so I will be living with her, so I won't exactly be there to control you." He said, a smile growing on my face.

"Nick are you serious?" Millie chimes.

"Yeah. Just don't do anything stupid." Nick says.

Millie and I walk back to our houses, hand in hand.

"See you at school tomorrow. I love you." I say to her, kissing her lightly on the lips.

"Love you." She smiled, and we went up to our rooms.

Ok i know that was a really short chapter, and im sorry about that. The chapter was short, but hey nick finally warmed up to millie and although it was short, it was a good chapter so woop!

I'm working on a new fanfic so that's why i jumped that quickly to Nick accepting them, because I start school in less than a month, so having two fanfics, plus school, would be really stressful. I think you guys are gonna like the new one though so :)

Also, this isn't the very end, but it will be ending soon :)
