Budgies are, sadly, underrated. People don't think of budgies as parrots, they think of them as parakeets, in fact people who don't know birds very well call them parakeets. Parakeet refers to any small-medium, long tailed parrot, budgies are just one of the many different parakeets out there. Budgie is short for budgerigar.
Budgies are in the top 10 best talking parrots. Sadly not many think of them as talkers.
Budgies are great companions, they are not beginner birds, there are no beginner birds, but budgies make great companions no matter your experience level, as long as you do your research before going out to get one.
