Why can't you be mine?

Chapter 23

{Yaoyorozu's POV}

As I part ways from Todoroki and Jirou, the feeling of never being able to joke around with him like before sinks in even more. I head back to my dorm room and slowly set myself down on the edge of my bed. Grabbing and holding onto one of its poles, thinking about how much of a mess I am. Why am I so upset about this? Yeah, Why am I? This is good isn't it? I'll be able to focus more on my goal of becoming a pro hero and i'll be able to focus on trying to successfully move on from Todoroki.

I give out a long and heavy sigh, a sigh of disappointment. I finally let go of the pole of the bed, oh how I wish letting go of my feelings for Todoroki would be as easy as letting go of the pole of the bed, too bad we can't all be like Elsa. I lay flatly on the middle of my bed, hugging my knees tightly across my chest. I give out an irritated grunt and sat down with crossed legs, I grabbed a pillow and started whacking it against the soft mattress. "Stupid Todoroki - stupid me - stupid feelings - why - did - it - have - to - be - my - best - friend -and - not - someone - else"

My 'chanting' would have been longer if only I hadn't been interrupted by a sudden knocking. Todoroki? I walk towards the door to be met with none other than the class representative, Tenya Iida. "Uh... G-good evening Yaoyorozu" He greets as he raises one stiff hand. I return the wave and greet him back, "Oh... Good evening to you too, Iida. What brings you here?" "Well, I happen to pass by and wanted to ask you if you wanted to go for a meet up tomorrow for a casual meal after all tomorrow is a weekend." He asks.

"Oh, another class meet up?"

"Actually" he begins to say, scratching the back of his neck, "Just the two of us?" I attempt to hide my slight surprise with the sudden question and consider the idea. "Sure" I notice how his eyes widens after hearing my answer. "Great! See you tomorrow at around noon?" he asks. "Perfect" he returns back to the dorm and I get a quick glance to see if Jirou and Todoroki were still there. Seeing as there was no point of me sulking and locking myself in my room, I decide to join them. Good thing I wouldn't have to suffer being the third wheel since Kaminari have decided to join them.

"Hey Yaoyorozu!" Kaminari greets, making Todoroki and Jirou immediately stop what they were talking about and made their heads jerk towards my direction. "Hello!" I greet back. "What are you guys doing?" "N-nothing, just making plans for tomorrow, we were going to invite you once everything was settled but good thing you're here now." Jirou says in a rush. "Oh that's nice but I can't come. I already have plans" I respond. "Oh! mind sharing those plans~" Jirou says wiggling her eyebrows.

I laugh at her weirdness and say, "I've been invited to go have a meal with someone tomorrow at noon" "That's-" Jirou was saying before she was suddenly interrupted with Todoroki saying, "So, like a date? Who are you going on a date with?" His voice sounded stern and did not waver one bit. All heads turned towards him but his bold gaze which was on me didn't change even after the sudden gain of attention. "Uh, I-it's nothing like that, it's not a date" I say. "But who invited you?" He says with his monotone voice which I hadn't heard in a very long time.

Eyes were now flickering between Todoroki and me, why do I feel like i'm being interrogated? "Uh, by Iida~san" I answer. Eyes were now back on Todoroki, "Oh, uh, where to?" he asks, the tone of his voice slightly going away from being monotone. "Uh-" I started before a light ding was heard from my phone.

Tenya Iida: Let's eat at the restaurant beside the academy, i'll pick you up from your dorm. See you!

Me: Sure, see you!

"Perfect timing, he said we're going to eat at the restaurant beside the school" I respond to his question to which I only receive a slight head nod. "Its getting late maybe we should head back to our dorms. Anyway, Yaoyorozu enjoy your date that's not a date" Kaminari says. We all agree and start to head back to our dorms. It really was late, the lights in the room were already being switched on and hardly no one can be seen. The figures of Kaminari and Jirou were far ahead and took the turn towards their dorms.

I was gently pulled back by the elbow and was going to scream but the person was swift and had put their hand on top of my mouth. I was going to kick the person when they suddenly said, "Calm down, Yaoyorozu, it's only me" it came out in a hushed whisper but also came out as a purr. I stopped all my fidgeting and attempted to calm down, my back was pressed against his chest when he suddenly turned me around and pushed me gently towards the near by wall.

I feel the presence of his right arm beside my head while his other arm wrapping around my waist pulling me closer towards him. I was pinned towards the wall, unable to move... correction, I refused to move. Even though it was pitch black, our eyes by now had been able to get used to the darkness and was able to slightly see each others faces. He goes to the side of my head and whispers, "I know Iida is my good friend but if, in any time does he make a move on you that passes your limits, i'll be the one who he has to end up fighting" 

I gulp at the hot breath that came out of him every time he said a word and nodded when he finished. I could somehow sense that he was smirking but before I could even turn to check, he suddenly bit my neck.
