Why can't you be mine?

Chapter 31

{Todoroki's POV}

It was night time now and no matter how much I tried to fall asleep, it was completely no use and so I decided to just wait for Kaminari and Jirou to return. Maybe they'll be the ones to help clear my mind. If Iida wasn't one of my only good friends, I wouldn't have hesitated to send that guy to the hospital right about now but I held great respect for him, especially now that Iida and I will be related. On top of that, I can't even confront or ask Yaoyorozu about the progress in their relationship.

I mean come on, how do I even attempt to start a conversation without having to reveal the fact that I had been spying on them like the creep that I am. Am I supposed to start with, 'Hey Yaoyorozu! I saw you and Iida today while I was stalking the both of you, and I overheard that you were having some sort of developments regarding your relationship' yeah, that sounds awkward and it's going to make me look like a complete jerk. I decide to go to the common room and wait for the both of them there.

As I approached the common room, I heard a shriek and noticed that it sounded quite similar to Yaoyorozu's voice which made me run into the room even faster. I expected a villain or some blood or maybe just a small accident but nope, all I saw was Kirishima and Bakugou sitting in a couch with Yaoyorozu sitting across from them. I slowed down my pace and slowly walked up to the three of them till feeling confused. "Why were you screaming?" I asked, which gained their attention. 

"Shitty hair told ponytail our 'love story' which made her scream and owes me my hearing" Bakugou states, earning a glare and a light slap from Kirishima. "Anyways, what are you even doing here? I'm sure Yaoyorozu is itching to ask" once again, earning a harsh slap from Kirishima. "Oh, I was going to wait for Kaminari and Jirou to come back" "Aren't you and Jirou dating or something? Why does she keep hanging out with Pikachu?" "Bakugou! Can you just keep quiet"

"What? I was just asking. Consider yourself lucky that that's how I formed the question" Bakugou says finally getting up and starting to walk away. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, turning to face his direction. Bakugou stops in his tracks and turned around to face me, "Meaning I could've asked it in  different way like, why are you allowing Pikachu to steal your girl or better yet why are you allowing Ponytail to date Iida?" He turns around to walk towards his dorm room. "I'm sorry for that. Excuse me" Kirishima says following Bakugou back to his dorm.

I don't know whether I should punch Bakugou or thank him for what he did. Why thank him you may ask? Oh well, he gave me an opportunity to ask about what happened between her and Iida. "So, you and Iida are dating now?" I noticed how fidgety Yaoyorozu became, this question was making her uncomfortable. I'd really like to force myself to believe that she rejected him and I still had a chance with her but based on what happened earlier, do I really stand a chance at proving myself to be correct?"

"He... he confessed to me" "Did you accept?" I asked still hesitantly waiting for her answer. "I accepted the fact that he liked me and at the time didn't know what to answer due to certain... circumstances but at the end he told me that he was willing to wait and all that so I didn't flat out reject him"  She explained not looking me directly in the eye. "Oh. Congratulations. I'm happy for you" Not. Oh Todoroki when will I ever learn to stop lying. "He also told me about the proposal and the plan for the after party so advanced congratulations to your sister"

Oh right, my sisters possibly upcoming wedding. We're doing the planning for the surprise party together and of course Iida is going to be there. Now how exactly do I start a conversation with a person who just asked Yaoyorozu out after clearly letting the whole class know which includes him, about the plan. Betrayal. It would've been better if it was someone else but someone who I actually trusted and was one of my first few friends, it was hard to hate him. But then again, no way was I going to let him win her over. 

Now before you say that I should just let Iida and Yaoyorozu be a happy couple, don't worry, I will. I won't break them apart and casually steal Yaoyorozu from him by confessing. I'm going to stick to the original plan and make sure the happy ending will be me and Yaoyorozu. Geez, that sounded like something Mineta would say. *shudders*. "The planning will be tomorrow. Are you planning on attending the after party?" "Actually, yes. Iida had already invited me and i'll also be attending the planning for tomorrow. It'll be so much fun"

Of course he had already asked. Mr. Steal Your Girl is on the lose and has a plan. "Oh. That's great. It'll be nice to have your input. I'm sure it's going to make things even more perfect" "Thank you, Todoroki~san. Anyways, what have you been doing today?" She asks. To which I was tempted to answer with 'oh just stalking you, no biggie' "Nothing much. I'm actually waiting for Kaminari and Jirou just to talk about some stuff" "You and Jirou huh? Didn't see that one coming"

"Why not?" "Well, based on what she had told me before, she had a massive crush on Kaminari which she continued to deny for so many years until one day she had finally accepted and admitted to it. So you and Jirou dating was honestly quite shocking" "Same to you and Iida" I said. "Why?" "I just never imagined that you'd end up with Iida" Probably because he knew I liked her. Well anyways, may the best man win Iida.

So my exams are finally up. 10 damn subjects done and over with. I'm honestly quite excited to get them back but out of all 10, I know I failed French. It was so damn hard I felt like flipping the table and tearing the paper in half. Can you imagine that? I'm going from an A* all the way to a damn C maybe even a D. Anyways, enough about my possibly sinking grades and back to the story. I'm seriously so tempted to end the book with Iida and Yaoyorozu getting together and if I don't think or get a good reason to not end it like that, i'll seriously do it. Thanks for reading!
